If you're not into diy I'd go with a hlg 550 or hlg 600. Also have a look at timber lights or some other led kits around. Check the sixstring's thread for more info
there now doubt i could build one, just dont know what it all is,im just looking for 1 light that will fill the 2x4 foot print and do as good or better than a 600 watt hps,i usally run 400 HID but to damn hot,so last summer i got these two cheap ass china lights for temps, shit they run as hot as the hid

400W of quantum boards would crush it in there. Piss on the 600w hps.

If you want 4 plants going at all times you'll need a second tent to have the next batch vegging. Make sure you've got the room, you'll be surprised what it looks like assembled, first person.

You can do it with a shop light in corner or closet. It doesnt have to be light proof and smell is not a big deal in veg

Yeah, that's me wanting to take it to the rocket science level once again.

what else would i need other than the 2 boards

Some material to build a frame and possibly heatsinks. But running each of those boards at 50W you won't need heatsinks.

I built me a small 2x2.5x2.5' weg box with quantum like boards at 150w. Those are rigid strips populated with 96 leds each running at about 25W a pop

I ordered those from china but are populated with the exact same chips as quantum boards.
