Which nematode variety have you had the best success with?

nematodes bro for fungus gnat control try anything in the order of this genus. Heterorhabditis indica

Bee keepers use them to combat fungus gnats and other critters in their hives believe it or not!!!!

Here is a great supply house for live nematodes. And yes they work. Since incorporating nematodes I haven't seen a fugus gnat in years. I take that back. I see em in peoples grows that don't use em.!!!!!! :D

What size were the girls and how many weeks into veg were you before flipping them to flower? Do you feed AACTs or any brews or is it water until chop chop?
vegged for 8 weeks. Which for commercial guys is way too long. Since I only take care of me and momma and a few friends I can afford longer vegs. Yes AACT's are very much a part of my routine. So in a sense I am not truly water only as the aact is a additive of sorts.

I think my ladies were getting drenched and they're large for the 5 gallon container, ill be cutting the veg time in half. Was running from seed so it took them awhile to sex to show. Can you show some of your finished harvests with the 5 gallon pots? I would love to see the work, my ladies are yellow and looks like they're stressing atm :/

just be sure not to oversaturate. Moist not waterlogged. You can actually drown your roots and the microbes. Delicate balance man. both soil and herd need some mix of air.

Would love to accommodate but my days of 5 gallon pots are all on the old hard drive from the diggz I was in before we bought our home. Hard drive was toast and bought a new puter. Nowadays I only use 3-4 gallon pots

Thanks for the inspiration, i'm studying into revising my soil recipe and changing up the ratios. Do you had feed or do you use drippers? Working with a blumat dripper right now and need to adjust it. Looking into picking up some gro-kashi and some em-1. I only grow from seed so veg time takes alwhile for me as well since I enjoy pheno hunting, going to reconfigure the room after this run as well.

I hand feed since in soil. I used to run hydro a lot.

Using wood as mulch is cool for quick round but longer full term plants (outdoor) take care! As wood chips break downs they absorbs nutrients to complete composting process using nutrients plants need. You may see deficiencies, same thing can happen with bio char, as it's a wood product. I am even very picky with compost used because generally its composted wood products. I've had issues before with not completely composted soil. Also when amending clumping can create ammonical nitrate, and other aerobics that can be counter productive. I personally sprinkle amendments in rings lightly away from the trunk to prevent caking. Also, to encourage feeder roots to hit outer rings which can be a bit stronger! Give thanks for everyone loyal to soil!!

Say you harvest your ladies in your no till pot. If you were doing a pheno hunt and kept the pots to a minimum smaller size like 3 or 5 gallon pots, how would you reuse this soil? I won't have live earth worms in the soil.

All I keep thinking at the end, "Build it and they will come." Nice movie.

Some wrong lessons i took;

- You want chocolate cake
- Squash is squash in Spanish
- Get decent chairs if you’re hosting a conference

That is all! :D

Definitely fun to watch tho. Mostly on cover crops but still educational too. Thanks @jumpincactus.

Heres some root porn under mulch. Do you guys think a companion plant can create or maintain such humidity in the top soil to promote this kinda of root growth? I just like the soft, top soil so water can move in more freely.
I’m thinking of companion planting with basil next grow. Hear tomato growers like to pair these two to enhance natural flavors. If i go with basil than i may not be able to mulch so maybe a moss like plant or something with many small leaves that crawls on soil that would hold the moisture down or produce moisture thru respiration could replace the mulching next grow.

You could try Thyme. It has lots of small leaves, has a tendency to spread as it grows, and lots of small leaves. Personally I would be more interested in using clover over basil or thyme. Clover is a legume, and legumes replace Nitrogen in the soil as they grow, whereas most other types of green plants will use nitrogen to grow, depleting the soil of the nitrogen necessary for plants to thrive. Another thing to keep in mind when companion planting is that not all plants like to play together. All plants give off exudates (waste) from their roots, those exudates may benefit or harm other plants in close proximity. While I am pretty sure neither basil nor thyme will negatively effect Cannabis I am not certain about that either. It’s worth it to do a bunch of research on companion planting before you just start putting plants together. While Cannabis exists in its own family of plants, it’s closest relative is hops (humulus lupulus) so it is probably worth taking a look at any companion plants growers are using with them.

Peas and beans are also legumes, so they will fix nitrogen in the soil as they grow. Just be careful as they grow that the vines don’t wrap around your other plants.

I am also curious about having roses as a companion plant for Cannabis. I know that roses and grapes work very well together. But that is really a project for outdoor growers.

Thanks for the the response bro.
I’m actually looking at a couple of options now. Trifolium repens is one. I see it has shallow roots and a creates a good cover. Woolly thyme is another option but sadly i couldnt find it near me. There are succulents like sedum sexangulare (or any other sedum) which can cover too, no nitrogen fixing tho. I think i’m going to cover with trifolium repens dominantly and add couple of things just for diversity like thymus citriodorus and couple of shallow rooting succulents. Well we’ll see. Still open for suggestions.
