I'm sure the answers are buried deep in the threads of many posts here, but I'm lazy and I know all of you like to add your two cents and advice. Much love to you all who give great advice.

I'm building a veg cabinet. 2'x4'x4'. my first thought was to use a t5 fixture. I juggled the idea of LED. Now my mind has wandered down the path of COBs. I plan to use the 600w burple I've been using for the time being. It works for veg for now. I'd like to upgrade and not sure what route to take. I like the convenience of prebuilt fixture. I'm not opposed to a diy build though. Since I have a light to use I have the time to decide. So farmers, let's pick a future light for my 2x4 veg cabinet.

Have you considered using strip lights. You could use bridgelux eb gen 2 strips.

8 4ft 5000k eb gen 2 strips
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/bridgelux/BXEB-L1120Z-50E4000-C-B3/976-1733-ND/7907662

8 4ft heatsink material, this or 1" angle or c c channel aluminum
https://www.heatsinkusa.com/1-000-wide-extruded-aluminum-heatsink/

18ga wire

Thermal tape, adhesive, or paste and screws.

An hlg-320h-42a or b, for dimming) for power.(get the elg-320h-42 if you can run the power supply from 200v+

Power cord

Hanging wire or chain.

100k ohm potentiometer if you choose the b pot

That's about all you need for about 300w of veg which would give you 35w sq ft. If you want 150w max you could get 4 of the strips, and run them off the hlg-185h-42a or b.

I considered strip lighting too. Not opposed to anything. I like diy shit, so building isn't out of the question, just I need a little more than suggestion. Me likey pictures and step by step stuff. I guess once I decide on something I can search for more in depth schematics. My diy light knowledge is limited. I need to understand the required fundamental components before I know how to put them together. It's like broken English to me and I only took two years of Spanish in high school. Hahahaha.

Go to ledgardner.com there is tons of info on strips an cobs. Strips give more uniformity with better penedration imo.
