From what I understand there's a 15,000 license fee to distribute; they won't be issued until 2018 (from what I understand) This is so all the cities and towns have time to pass zoning ordinances; restricting banning pot shops, grows etc. as they see fit. I think you want to look to DC and see how they do things because I think that's how it will play out in MA; the legislators will drag feet forever before anything gets done; meanwhile you need to get creative. Sell a t-shirt and give your baked goods as a "free" gift. It will be legal to give one another herb this December.

The one good part is its legal to grow on dec 15, so I see many new people starting up a grow, instead of waiting 2 years . But yeah a legal canna business will be quite a while and crazy series of hoops to jump through

Here is a snippet of the text from your states ballot measure. Keep in mind the process will be long and arduos and you need to stay informed as the rules and the does and donts get rolled out.

from text of ballot measure below

The proposed law would permit the possession, use, distribution, and cultivation of marijuana in limited amounts by persons age 21 and older and would remove criminal penalties for such activities. It would provide for the regulation of commerce in marijuana, marijuana accessories, and marijuana products and for the taxation of proceeds from sales of these items.

The proposed law would authorize persons at least 21 years old to possess up to one ounce of marijuana outside of their residences; possess up to ten ounces of marijuana inside their residences; grow up to six marijuana plants in their residences; give one ounce or less of marijuana to a person at least 21 years old without payment; possess, produce or transfer hemp; or make or transfer items related to marijuana use, storage, cultivation, or processing.

The measure would create a Cannabis Control Commission of three members appointed by the state Treasurer which would generally administer the law governing marijuana use and distribution, promulgate regulations, and be responsible for the licensing of marijuana commercial establishments. The proposed law would also create a Cannabis Advisory Board of fifteen members appointed by the Governor. The Cannabis Control Commission would adopt regulations governing licensing qualifications; security; record keeping; health and safety standards; packaging and labeling; testing; advertising and displays; required inspections; and such other matters as the Commission considers appropriate. The records of the Commission would be public records.

The proposed law would authorize cities and towns to adopt reasonable restrictions on the time, place, and manner of operating marijuana businesses and to limit the number of marijuana establishments in their communities. A city or town could hold a local vote to determine whether to permit the selling of marijuana and marijuana products for consumption on the premises at commercial establishments.

The proceeds of retail sales of marijuana and marijuana products would be subject to the state sales tax and an additional excise tax of 3.75%. A city or town could impose a separate tax of up to 2%. Revenue received from the additional state excise tax or from license application fees and civil penalties for violations of this law would be deposited in a Marijuana Regulation Fund and would be used subject to appropriation for administration of the proposed law. Marijuana-related activities authorized under this proposed law could not be a basis for adverse orders in child welfare cases absent clear and convincing evidence that such activities had created an unreasonable danger to the safety of a minor child. The proposed law would not affect existing law regarding medical marijuana treatment centers or the operation of motor vehicles while under the influence. It would permit property owners to prohibit the use, sale, or production of marijuana on their premises (with an exception that landlords cannot prohibit consumption by tenants of marijuana by means other than by smoking); and would permit employers to prohibit the consumption of marijuana by employees in the workplace. State and local governments could continue to restrict uses in public buildings or at or near schools. Supplying marijuana to persons under age 21 would be unlawful.

The proposed law would take effect on December 15, 2016.[3]

Unfortunately; much of the regulatory aspect of the law was drafted by "big cannabis" they will have the money; attorneys etc. to get the license. While limiting competition from the mom and pops; we were lucky to get home growing allowed at all. I'm sure as soon as some dumb ass burns his house down, they will sensationalize that in the media and ban home growing. If you really want to make a legitimate career in the business; now is the time to get started preparing, study the law, get creative, find the loop holes; be careful with the money you make; they will try to go after people for tax evasion. If you sell a t shirt for 200 bucks and give a free oz of poo to someone you better with hold the sales tax for the shirt. The governor, mayor attorney general hate this law; they will find new and creative ways to fuck with people; we need to think like them. They have been fucking with Wild Bill (spokesperson for MASSCANN) for years, because he flies above the radar and it's cost him thousands in legal bills etc., he made those sacrifices for us. They raided him with a full swat team; for peddling non psychoactive legal CBD ; seized all his money, then made him plea guilty under the promise he would get his assets back, still hasn't happened, this was all political to scare people ahead of the election. National Guard Choppers raided an 81yo man with 4 plants on Martha's Vineyard and another grandmother with one plant out in Amherst somewhere. People need to be real responsible with how they do there cannabis. Any missteps will be sensationalized in the media and used as excuses to not implement the will of the people.

When are we going to say enough to our local LEO's that its just weed for chris sakes and stop using full combat mode to arrest pot growers armed with flash bangs and goons decked out in combat gear armed with full automatic weapons. Seems to be overkill does it not. Save the combat heroics for the Cartels boyz

Yes sir I am hip to a lot of what you said. The constant video and local presence is a way to desensitize folks to having a standing army on our soil. Which is in direct conflict with that wonderful document we all revere.

It's all about intimidation; and desensitizing the masses by making it seem normal that LEO now look like soldiers. Ever notice that anytime there is any kind of incident that the news shows the cops in fatigues with automatic weapons? Did you know that all LEO in the US is now run in-directly by the State Department? They put out memo's and briefings on "threat levels" and all types of other non sense piped directly through the chain of command right to the cruiser on your street corner; this ratchets up the fear and paranoia that these officers feel; that's why they go off on a hair trigger, they are t0ld daily that there is a war on them. Did you know that an applicant was denied becoming an officer because his IQ was too high? He took the case to the supreme court claiming discrimination; the court ruled against him because "having IQ's within certain parameters is a necessary part of the job. Did you know that local LEO is buying complicated tracking software developed by CIA contractors to track people via social media posts as well as connect any other meta data about you that is available, this is then filtered through algorithms to assign threat level number to people? Do to the patriot act; LEO does not have to disclose what they know about you. It's not a violation of the 4th amendment because you give facebook permission to sell all your data, as well as have complete access to the cameras and microphones on your devices; theoretically they can listen/watch whenever they want. You could think you are getting pulled over for having a light out but really maybe you pop up on their screen as a "level 7" and they just want to check you out. Soon we will all have RF chips on our drivers licenses; so just being in the proximity of a reader will allow your entire meta data profile to pop up on uncle LEO's screen(Suspect posts on pro marijuana forum; enjoys jam music; watches porn twice a week and just bought a new skateboard on amazon). I'm sure that won't lead to anyone's rights getting violated. Think about it, If the shit ever really hits the fan; these fine men and women will be asked to turn their weapons on citizens; without the proper mental conditioning that is going on now, many would not be able to fulfill that responsibility.
Just a heads up. We need to watch out for any political slanted threads as it is in conflict with Logics TOS. It may be deleted.

I'm not sure what the limit is but the dispensaries have shit weed I know that half decent for high high prices . the cultivators liscense allows you to sell to the manufacturer , the manufacturer lefts you sell to the retailers , no one can sell to anyone else as far as the retail goes ..cultivate to manufacturer (oils , wax , extracts , hash ,edibles etc , then the manufacturer can only sell to the retailers and the retailers to the public ..January 1st I believe is when they actualy start the liscense apps acceptance , anyone can trade , gift , share , etc , can even accept a donation ..able to carry up to an oz and have 6 plants per age 21 plus in the home to grow ...cultivators 15 thousand , manufacturers 15 thousand, and retail is like 3000 , pretty sure about that ..I'm getting my ass over to the green mile in Brookline to hand out cards and offer delivery ..the most anyone will be getting Is a civil fine for breaking rules, they took all criminal out of the equation ..I think they're just done bothering people makes no sense to at this point

The buds can be sold to any retailer and any business that gets the town it's ins approval nothing within 500 feet of a school (that's the pharmacy and liquor stores space anyway )
So really you'd be selling to a manufacturer but there is gonna be ways around It like you can totaly give someone something and take a donation . a donation can be whatever you advise it be ...loophole
