The closer you have the light the less it’ll stretch. Of course you don’t want to burn them so keep an eye on it.

Day 35; something like 2 weeks into flower. They seem to have pretty much stopped shooting straight up, but they're not really progressing much at all with the flowering. If you compare the pics below with those from my last post - 5 days ago - they look damn near identical to me. Should there be more happening? With something that needs to operate in such a truncated, finite time table, it just doesn't seem like much of anything has been going on with them.

So, I'm 45 days in. Kolas are starting to fill out slightly, but still look like there's not much of anything going on. Here's what I'm looking at today:

Now, could someone please tell me what the fuck these things are?! Tell me that they're not what I think they are...

Day 53. Still fighting yellowing from the bottom up, which pretty much started as soon as they started stretching when they hit bloom. Otherwise they seem to be doing well enough. Just worried that whatever deficiency/lockout is going on might kill them before I have something to harvest.

Here's how they look right now. Finally some noticeable bud formation going on. Started including honey in their water this past week. Everyone seems to be big on molasses, but it's apparently damn near impossible to find here in AZ. I'm guessing carbs is carbs, so it shouldn't hurt anything to use honey?

If you guys had to guess, roughly how long would you think I have until they're ready to harvest? Is it about time to chop off all the fan leaves to let light into the lower areas?

They look good,I think you have at least 3 or 4 weeks to go .I wouldnt sweat the yellowing they probably wanted a bit more food when flowering started.

Day 55. A little early for an update, but since I just switched them to 315w CMH 3100K lighting, I figured it would be worth mentioning. I'd also ordered some Cal-Mag that arrived with the new light setup. Don't know nearly enough to know if they actually needed it, but fuck it, I'm gonna give it to them anyway. So, here's how they look on their first day under CMH. Should be a bit more revealing than the blurple pics I'd previously posted.

As of 2 weeks ago, I'd pretty much written this grow off as an impending disaster. With the progress they seem to have made in the past couple of weeks, I'm suddenly cautiously optimistic again. Although anemic compared to what most of you are putting out, I'm just stupidly happy to see the kolas putting on what little mass they are. Hoping the CMH helps kick budding into overdrive a bit.

As of right now, I have it hung so that the very upper tips of the plants are 21" below the bulb. For those of you with CMH experience, how does that sound? Thinking I'd read that 20" is about the sweet spot, but wanted some real-world input from those in the know.

Well, guess it's time to close out this thread. Since I had so much stretch early in flower, I ended up doing a 2-tier harvest. I chopped off the top 12" of the plants and then lowered my CMH and cooked the bottoms of the plants for another 10 days. Amazon's taking their sweet fucking time shipping my scale, so I don't have a total weight. Anyway, after harvesting was complete, here's what I had (add in an ounce or so that I smoked between harvesting top and bottom):

Here's a pic I sent to a buddy of mine to rub my relative success in his face. It gives a decent view of what the best of the buds looked like:

Unfortunately, the nugs are mostly fairly fluffy, but I can't complain about the quality. At first, while the stuff was still very fresh, I was pretty disappointed with taste, aroma and potency. I didn't realize just how important it is to thoroughly dry the bud. Now that it's good and dry, the flavor is definitely coming through much better and the shit's got a pretty decent kick to it.

So, knowing basically nothing and winging it most of the way through, I still managed to produce something, which I'm pretty happy about. Definitely didn't produce the huge, dense nugs that we all love, but I'm satisfied with my haul - especially considering it's my first time. For my next grow, I've decided to go the top-feed dwc route with 5 gallon buckets. I'll be getting that started in the next week or two. Just gotta figure out the simplest way to use rockwool to get my seeds started.

Id say you did pretty good, those jars will take a minute to empty.Your gonna find that patience is the biggest thing with your indoor grow.If those buds arent fully dry they arent ready for the jars.Did they feel wet again after being in the jars?

No. I hung the plants in my tent for 6 days before cutting the buds off and giving a very minimal trim. Here in Az, average relative humidity is probably in the 20's, so they dried pretty well in that time. Now, there's just a little stickiness inside when I'm breaking a bud apart, but everything else seems like it's good and dry. Hopefully, by the time my next crop is ready to harvest, I'll have picked up a cheap humidifier to get a better cure.
