Once again, the most difinitive information being suggested by growers with no proven track record in rdwc. ?? Confusing.

ttystikk, lets see some pics to validate your experience.

Squiggy! You're still here!

On and off. Just really taking a step back these days, gotta put health first (but I've been doing better so far this week)!

Always happy to be in a thread of yours dude, the ladies look much better in those most recent pics. Any new updates for us?

Update: day 4 flower

Today's weather conditions, inside the tent it was a wonderful 77 degrees Fahrenheit at 74% relative humidity. Leaf temperatures reached a high of 77.9° with an average temperature of about 75° on the infrared thermometer. The pond was at 1.2 EC, with a Ph of 6.2 at 67° Fahrenheit. And the tallest girl has grown to 11.3/4" tall. Almost double that of this time last week. /end weatherman voice. Lol

So I decided now was as good a time as any to shave the girls legs a bit. Its been getting a bit jungle like down there and I like my ladies smooth.

Request granted. Glad to hear the health is picking up.

Its time for a bowl after rolling around like a contortionist trimming the girls. The Res side is a real bitch.

Everything looks great- my only suggestion is to bring the pH down to around 5.7. Early bloom wants low pH for better N takeup. As the bloom cycle progresses, gradually allow pH to rise up to where it is now as of late bloom, when plants want more P and K, and higher pH encourages that. I generally never let my RDWC go over 6.0.

I may work on that a bit. I haven't adjusted the Ph in a long while. Its been scary stable.

You may be seeing the 'swing', where pH in a well balanced system only slowly climbs. This isn't a bad thing by any means, it helps the plants in many ways. Just bring it back down once it's run its course... and 6.2 is as good a time as any.

What is your nutrient changeout interval? I designed my systems to go a specific set time, so I can change and fill and be confident they have what they need to go the interval with minimum add backs. The way to design the system to do this is to size your total RDWC water volume to match the plant mass and the time between changeouts. I do this by measuring how much water I add between changeouts; if the system can handle 50 gallons full, I would consider the batch depleted if I add another 100 gallons of water. If the interval runs out long before this, you're wasting nutes. If you need to add more than double your original water volume, then your total system volume is too small.

To raise ec between changeouts, I add a complete nutrient like CNS 17.

So in my case, i run a 16 day cycle, and so the first interval is 24 days; the girls are smaller so they'll go longer. Second interval is 16 days; early peak bloom. Third interval is late bloom, another 16 days. The last 8 days is flush, for a total of 64. Very predictable, very repeatable- which is exactly the kind of no surprises operation I like!

My oh my, how things change.

1.2 EC/ 5.7PH/ 67°
78° @ 64%
Leaf temp: 75° average

Did a little more cleaning up on the lower branches tonight. I hate trimming in flower, but there is no sense in leaving the pop corn on.

Lookin' good! I know how you feel about taking stuff off a healthy plant in flower- just think of it as redirecting the growth upwards, towards the light...

Update time!

So I finally did a res change for the first time last week! Just wanted to give my vegetable garden some nutrients as much as anything. Conditions are still about the same. 75-78° at 55-65% RH. Water is still around 1.0 EC at 67°.

The girls are just starting their 6th week.

Some of the flowers are forming differently than the others. I'm not sure what's up with that.
