Overheating Rootzone

Discussion in 'Tree Farming' started by Islandgrows, Sep 19, 2016.

  1. Hi all was wondering if any outdoor growers know how to prevent the rootzone from overheating in the hot tropical sun. Growing in containers using a peat /perlite mix . Any pointers will be helpful.

  2. Panda film or mylard covers is the best thing. Misting constantly can really help too.

I used Mylar on the fences one year and burned some plants. I use the tan colored smart pots(100 gallon) and have a friend that wrapped Tyvec (sp) house wrap around his pots.
