I am in the process of designing a UC system for my next grow. I am currently only working with two 600w and would like the system sized correctly.

My current design consists of
DWC:
4 5gal containers with 2gal net pots
20gal res
1/10hp chiller
4 flexair diff
Pumps:
600gph mag drive pump (150gph per plant)
Pond master ap60 pump

Is everything sized correctly or do I need a stronger air and water pump?

From what I have read a 10gal container for the plant will usually support a 4lb tree, so theoretically 5gal containers should be enough to support 2lb trees in the future, am I correct in thinking this way?

you want to size your pump so that it moves about 50 gph through each unit including the control res

with the smaller containers and too much suction I see roots cloggging your connecting pipes

not sure about 5 gals being enough for a 2 lb tree

I don't know if its overkill but I was planning on using 3" pvc to connect the tubes to help in preventing clogging, what size pump would you recommend?

Go for the 3". I'd agree w ML and keep the flow moderate.
