Question On Topping And Scrogging

So I'm in about week 3 of my grow and only plan to veg for another week or so. I'm growing in 3 gallon pots and a mixture of organic soil. My grow area is a little smaller than 4 by 4 and I have 8 plants started. I've got some males in there and will probably end up with or or 4 plants. Since I'm in such a small area, I'm thinkin I should scrog. I'm obviously going to have to wait till after I flower a bit so I can get the males out. Should I start topping now? How long till after flower will the males generally show up? I do have an autoflower in the mix also.

You can do one of two things if you want to scrog.

Start topping now and let them branch out and that should extend your time a little bit until pre flowers show up. Other than that it takes about a little over a week of flower to see sex. Pre flowers usually dont show up for me until around the 10th node
