Besides the fact that the system runs 3070, last model, I've read that the driver has the most impact?

They run at a best of 220w but really 200w to "increase life span". Can I force them to draw more watts with a new driver?

read the stats for the yolk you got. Better to run them low though

And I'm sure you know you can't make a 100w a 200w light with more power

You would be better off switching for the CXB3070 than putting in a ne driver. CXB has 30% increase in luminous flux over CXA. You can push them harder though, but the question is, is the cooling going to be adequate. 3070 is 30mm footprint with 70W nominal power (@1900mA), but you can push it much harder, up to about 105W (@2800mA) if the cooling fits the bill.

I have some CXB3590's that are being pushed at only 50 watts each. Went to the Cree website and found they are still testing some CXB 3590's for longevity, think the term is lumen maintenance. Running them juiced up in a hot environment. One test batch is running at 2100ma @36v, a little over 75w, in a 105 degree Celsius environment (221 degrees Fahrenheit). Another batch has been testing @2.8a, 36v, in a 85C/185 Fahrenheit which equals almost 101watts of power to the cob.
They haven't had one failure yet in almost 12,000 hrs of testing and as of today are predicting over 61,000 hours of lifetime before they lose 10 or 20% of their shine L90 or L80 lumen maintenance. So don't be afraid to juice them up a little, I know I am going to.

actually with cobs you can double the output by switching drivers in most cases.but as toaster said the heatsinks would need to be able to handle the extra power.
