OK

i used to grow 20 years ago, just coming back.

I cut 20 babes, after 16 days not a root was evident.
the tops looked ok, i thot they were off n running.
All they did was swell on the stem a bit but not a root anywhere to be seen

1" rockwool cubes in a domed tray
Used 5.8PH water
temp was 78-82 80F on avg
wilson liquid rooting hormone
24hr light using 4-30w grow light, flourescents

Tossed all 20, then i cut 24 new ones.
I was as meticoulous as i could be.
new blade, into RH within 1 sec.
cubes were plenty wet.

looks like these 24 are heading to rest with the last 20

sigh getting discouraged when i cant even grow a feckin weed.....

WTF AM I DOING WRONG??

To much light maybe? I just stick my little tray of clones under a 15w cfl. You could also try sticking them into coco pucks or cups rather than rockwool.

Lower your temp IMO. Shoot for low 70's. Some strains are tougher to clone then others.

low 70s.

OK well for what its worth, try willow water and just put cuttings in glass with this water......roots will come, then straight to dirt or hydro set up.
Best natural rooting shit you can find.....for real! Old school but k.i.s.s. is my philosophy. and yes its not the right time, spring best.
IT WORKS

The cuttings are not photosynthesizing until roots form they just need enough light to keep the hormones happy. Looks to me like your lights are so close that they are cooking off any moisture in the plants. I would cut the leaves in half to avoid moisture loss from transpiration and raise the light 6-12 inches and you should be good even with higher temps in the room.

Shoot for 85* and 80%rh (70% min)
A heat mat at be needed. I' an aero cloner guy. I'e read many threads about cloning in rw. Most say it' difficult in rw cubes.

Check your domes man and make sure they are sealed. If you dont see water haze on the inside of the dome somthing is fucked up.My clones WILL NOT root if there is not enough humidity in there. When i can see the condensation on the inside walls of my dome i will get roots every time in less than 7 days.If i dont see it and have a bent or bowed out dome i will not get roots.
Also rockwool is a pain in the dick to clone with IMO.holds to much water and the last thing you want for clone stems. You want them moist but not wet.I use root riots and cloning gel now and everything is second nature

You left to much leaf on your cuttings, cut the big leafs back after you take the cuttings, it inspires roots to grow and not leaf, or the cutting will wilt before your cuts produce roots. Every thing else your doing I do too.

When you cut the leaves surface area in half, you cut the amount of stomata in half and minimize transpiration (water loss through the leaves). When your leaf temp raises but the air around it doesn't, it creates more water loss and that is why your lights need to be raised IMO.

Those trays come warped out the box half the time. I use these little mini domes.
These things are solid and they're aboit a piece. Not a very high dome though.

As mentioned leave just enough fan leaf to capture a bit of light. Otherwise your fans will respirate and dry out.

I find best success under a 3200k. If i clone in the sideligjt of my LEC I have angel hair roots in 7 days.

@DemonTrich
I'm with you. I purchased a 25 cell aerocloner...im not a babysitter. Never used one so i may be picking your brain.
