OG Kush makes up the genetic backbone of West Coast cannabis varieties, but in spite of its ubiquity, its genetic origins remain a mystery. Popular myth maintains that Chemdog and Hindu Kush parented OG Kush, passing on the distinct “kush” bud structure we see in many strains today. However, we can’t be sure because OG Kush first came from bag seed in the early 90s. The earliest propagators (now known as Imperial Genetics) are said to have brought the seeds out of Florida to Colorado and southern California, where it now flourishes. There are many different phenotypes of OG Kush, some of which include Tahoe OG, SFV OG, and Alpha OG.
OG Kush is cherished for its ability to crush stress under the weight of its heavy euphoria. It carries an earthy pine and sour lemon scent with woody undertones, an aroma that has become the signature of OG Kush varieties and descendants. With OG Kush, patients most commonly cite improvements in migraines, ADD/ADHD, and stress disorders.

Any reason you're copy/pasting Leafly's description here? Ref: https://www.leafly.com/products/details/healing-light-bodega-og-kush-family-strong-farms

OG Kush is in a lot of strains for sure. It is an OG of strains and Ocean Grown, so gets both senses of the initials. ;)

One thing to keep in mind is that OG does mean Ocean Grown, and not all "OG" strains are same genetics.
there is also thought that OG denoted "original gansta" as well. Whats not to love about all the mysterious urban cannabis legends and stories. Some of which we will never solve....... Smoke em if you got em.

There are many OG Kushes.

Original gangsta from socal, the term wasn't pheno specific until ocean grown kush talk out of norcal. Then "Bobs backyard #3" got labeled 'OG' cuz Bob thought it matched the smoke report on Over Grow (another 'OG' lol.) Just like kryppy wasn't pheno specific just a term for a long time, until people on the internets need to categorize everything into specifics. You cant call it Bobs #4 anymore. People want to classify shit in their minds, like "Loud is better than dank". Thats how peoples minds work out in the wild. The shits not even related yet they call them variants today, just because of market hype + national sprawl. Half the OGs don't even have a good buzz. The dankest OG I've ever had, out of Hollywood, didn't even have the OG high.

Same with fake GSC. The cut is so basic in its description and common in its looks everyone growing something similar just started calling it GSC.
