I use a 6 inch vortex S series fan with filter. It works GREAT. I had one that cost half the price but the noise was irritating and now that problem is solved. I run it full power and it is around 400 CFM if i remember. If I run it on a fan controller it makes more noise so i like it just running all the time.

I just saw the box in the garage. 340 CFM at full. The cheapo I had was 460 at full but it sounded like my furnace fan was on high all the time. The vortex cut that by more than half so i can run it full. Doo Eeet !!

  7. I cool my 4x4x7 with a 170 cfm fan and filter combo. running a open reflector 600 hps.
    65 degree intake temp.

  8. When I ran a 3x3x7 with led I used a 6" duct booster fan running 24/7

Same here. I run the fan only. The temps are manageable with the fan running at max 24/7. I am using LED lighting and the temps run 68 with the light off and 79 degrees with the light on for 18 hours. No additional cooling was needed. Humidity is a bit tougher to control but I can keep it at a steady 40% without intervention. Wet towels and a wick bucket boosts that up if I need to but it is more BS than its worth for me. :)
