According to a friend of mine, the forest rangers got trained on ar-15s not too long ago. When asked why, he said it was for civil unrest and people hiding in the woods.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with armed cartel members with full auto AK's and grenade launchers growing in State and National Forest.

Anyone for coolaid:hi its red

Things are actually surprisingly cool down at the occupation - I've been actively involved for almost two weeks now - even the cops seem to be respecting us! The Drug War is definitely one of the major concerns of the movement, but it's only one of many - more than anything else, it's about community solidarity and the determination that, at least for right here & right now, we're gonna be doing right by one another and lead our government and corporate infrastructure by example.

PS The herb supply is limited but appropriately dankster :)

I'd like to go down to the one here in L.A. to just hand out joints. It would be cool to raise everyone's spirits & the overall energy. Wonder how big the crowd is now?

Yeah, with the drug cartel grows and other huge outdoor grows around I'd be carrying a rifle if I was a ranger, at least in some places. Probably one with a little more range and stopping power than an ar-15 though...

Also, there is no doubt this is going to be a tough fight. Repubs and TBaggers generally follow the "Starve the Beast" financial policy:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starve_the_beast

...which is completely at odds with liberal ideals.

I can see both sides of the issue, but the way Repubs and TBaggers are trying to implement the idea is hurting a lot of people, and favors the rich, banks and large corps. To me, most of the repub presidential candidates are more fit for the loony bin than the white house. When did the right wing go completely insane? I used to support some of their ideas, but ever since W things have gone downhill...

The ranger specifically said civil unrest, not drug lords running around. BTW I drink the purple stuff.

There was a great editorial out this weekend about not letting the politicians co-opt the movement and jump the 'occupy' bandwagon. They're all shills and whores, so hopefully the movement won't accept their support, they've had their chance.

So do you guys think its fair that 1% of the people in the country pay 40% of the countries taxes. Do you guys think its fair that Union's get a cost of living increase every year, government bail outs, a separate retirement fund that doesn't support SSI or SSDI while you have to pay for their fathers and mother benefits? Do you believe that unions are a higher class of people then the rest of us? Do you think its fair that people who apparently support this movement own debit card companies that charge you to use your own money? I'm just curious what this movement is about it seems rather conflicting. I'm a broke M@#@$F$%^#$ but I love America because I have a chance to become rich know people want to take that away. I agree 100% that the government is way to big and needs to trim the fat I also agree no one can live off of minimum wage it seem to me you guys are protesting the wrong people thou. The persons you should be protesting are unions and the persons sitting in the white house selling your jobs to asia, mexico, ,europe and have been doing so since Clinton was in office any one hear of NAFTA . Do you think its fair that citizens(YOU) have to pay for 20 million people that shouldn't be in the country to begin with and have drove your wages and your loved ones wages into the dirt and pay no income taxes or social security? How many of you are going to support the greed involved in selling "Medicine" for $2000-$3000 a pound? So how many of you are going to donate your entire crop for the movement? come on guys spread the wealth.

Please feel free to drink the coolaid I'll make purple this time for those who don't like the red :hi

TROLL! lmao

how about ever since they've de regulated various industries the entire middle class has disappeared. Take the oil and gas industry, do you know why the price of gas is so high. supply and demand right. well what if you artifically create a short supply. how u say, instead of rebuilding aging refineries that process the oil into gas(in case you don't know what those are), they just close them down. Now instead of having 4 refineries making oil into gas you only have 3. Do you see how it works. All the while the government, the people that REPRESENT US sit back and watch it all happen and get rich by letting it.Thats jus one example, how about wall street, the artifical industry of war, etc etc etc. pull your head of the sand people. Capitalism unregulated is worse than communism at its best. I'll settle for socialism, but im canadian ;)

I'm attending occupy bay street in Toronto on saturday.

I'm a broke M@#@$F$%^#$ but I love America because I have a chance to become rich hi

This is what you don't get. If you are broke, you have no chance of becoming rich, at least not a measurable chance. Unless you are born a 1%er, you WILL NEVER BECOME A 1%er.... yet you continue to shill for the 1%, because they have you believeing that you can get there. NEWS FLASH! You can't! There are no loans, no jobs for people unless they are rich to begin with... oh, sure you could get a 50K, maybe even if you bust you hump, wear nice clothes, sell ice to eskimos, make 100K......... that is NOT rich, that's a taste, that's all, and you still are in the 15% tax brackets.... you don't become a 1%er unless you are making a MILLION a year, that will most likely never happen for anyone you know......

So yes, if you make so much you can't remember how many houses you have, you can pay 50% or more in taxes... shit, before Regan the rich were taxed up to 90%, on income, and they never said shit, they have so much money they hardly cared........ TAX THE RICH is the only solution.... the money has to come from somewhere, if you have a better idea, please share it.

LMAO so know anyone with a different opinion is a troll. Well at least you didn't call be a racist or blame it all on bush thats a plus.

Just curious what industries have they deregulated I'd be interested to know. Second I agree with you on the gas issue the funny thing is oil right know cost 40% less then it did 3 years ago when gas cost 1.75 a gallon. The reason why is because obama and the 3 stooges(and yes some republicans) want to push green energy so you will be forced to buy one of those electric cars you have to charge ever hour (oh wait where does that electricity come from), so they you can protect the environment from all that global warming that was so important they erased all the data (didn't make any backups LMAO) that supposedly backed up that theory.

Second oil rigs oil platform ect.. to my knowledge aren't owned by tax payers but by private companies and why would they rebuild them or upgrade them when the obamo regime is refusing to let them drill and is also pulling their drilling right away and giving them to south american companies and china maybe you should ask for some info from the oil rig workers.

I agree we need more refineries and gas price fixing needs to be fixed so why haven't the democrats who support this movement done anything about it beside vote down bills that would do just that?

I 100% agree about the so called representative I think they are all A!@hats who are sucking on the tax payers(and lobbist) tit just like the public unions that are in this movement.

So are you going to go protest the NFL and NBA because those guys are making 30- 100 million a year ect... some more then that?

Know lets talk about how we have to compete with countries that have no EPA use child, slave, and prison labor just curious are you guys protesting outside of the Chinese embassies?

I know how this works but by saying down with the rich how is that going to make jobs or change the way gas is regulated. The funny thing about most socialist countries is that the little people get stepped on while a select few (The aristocracy )have the power look at russia and china. You think socalism is so great why isn't it working in europe? Isn't greece a socialist country?

Just curious do you know how many people mao zedong killed have you read anything about the holodomor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor if that is what your pushing be carefull for what you are asking for. Please don't tell me how great socialism is, specifically when they have killed more people then hitler. I mean if you really fell that way please feel free to move to russia it sound like it would be right up your alley.

You say you are a Canadian are you protesting in Canada or here? You are right its time for the government to listen to its CITIZEN's and to work for the US CITIZEN's not special interest and FOREIGNERS, but doing class warfare isn't the way to do.

One more question how much should a person be allowed to make? and who is going to decide?

The funny thing is except for the socialist part, you stand for everything the tea party stands for but they are apparently Tbaggers right.

P.S Sorry J-fly for getting of subject of original post

Big difference between communism and democracies that have socialist polices, like many European countries. Have you ever been? I have 2 half-sisters that live in Germany and I used to work in Denmark. Quality of life for the lower to middle class is a lot better, resulting in less crime and social issues. In Denmark, starting wages at any job equal nearly $20/hr, and there is no unemployment, zero... many service industries like restaurants and hotels are a bit understaffed because of this. While they do pay a lot of taxes, somehow the average family can afford a better quality of life. Also, the typical work week is 32-40 hours with 6 weeks paid vacation, many more paid holidays, paid sick and maternity leave. That's right... the average Dane gets 2 month off a year, with full pay. And it's very rare to have to work over 40 hours. So fwiw, there are some countries out there that are kicking our butt as far as providing a decent life for it's citizens... not a lot, but some for sure...

First off.
Purple Kool-Aid is my favorite.
Nothing like artificial Grape.

There is some deep discussion going on in here. I would liken that to the whole dysfunctional un-unifed message of these 'protests'. We got a lot of things to evaluate to bring back 'The American Dream'. Especially if we are to export the dream.

But I am way to childish to join in any intellectual philosophical to and fro.

I'm just wondering if anyone saw this.
"The only structure left was a cardboard box on the sidewalk being used as a table for donuts, water and other refreshments."

First I just wanna say to be in the top 1% you have to make $350,000 or more.

Second I want to say the main focus of the movement is that corporations have too much power in the political system. They pay lobbiests who in turn bribe politicians in order to change the rules of the game so that the rich get richer and the poor get fucked over and out.

From your original post killerapplesauce it seems to me like you are drinking the koolaide of the 1%. It aint grape drank that is for sure! The bottom line is that the game is rigged and the top 1% change the rules in their favor. A great man once said

"They Call it the American Dream.... Because you have got to be asleep to believe it!!"
