The fact is, there is a lot of f'ed up shit going on that is worth protesting. Whether or not you feel like America is the land of the free, or whether the american dream is still alive doesn't change the fact that A LOT of ridiculous shit has been going down with no consequences. The jails should be full of people who used to be in the mortgage industry. The Federal Reserve Bank needs to be ended. Corporations shouldn't be able to influence elections because currently, elections might as well be for sale. Our largest trading partner (China) has been artificially devaluing their currency, and does not have adequate protection for the environment or worker safety, yet we still import Chinese goods.

And, as John Stuart pointed out on the Daily Show last night.... every GOP presidential candidate is absolutely NUTS. Pat Robertson, the f'in CRAZY evangelical christian even said the GOP candidates need to "tone it down" or they won't get elected. Not that he disagrees with their crap, but they should keep the real crazy stuff hidden from view...

Well said Dorje. I agree that there are multiple issues at hand. Occupy Wall Street is a great avenue to start hearing the voice of the people. After all, it all starts with the banks, and then all the shit starts rolling downhill from there. It isn't all about jobs and money. It is so much more than that at at time when things already stand to get worse.
Has anyone noticed the price of food lately? You can actually but a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk for ten bucks. Probably 20 in NYC. Shits getting expensive.

Mexico is poor BECAUSE of the United States. Mexico's principle economy was agriculture, mostly corn (maize) and fruits. They were put out of business by American subsidized GMO corn, because even without any petroleum or anything, they couldn't outproduce American corn, nor could they produce it for less than the cost of production, which we can, thanks to taxpayer raping. They came here because of what we took from them. Not to mention, most middle-class Mexicans are the descendants of indigenous Native Americans, so technically, you are also standing on their land.

And no, most of them no longer see America as their promised land, its just that things are now getting to be just as bad here as they have been in Mexico, and most of them have already planted roots here, jobs, children enrolled in schools, etc.

Most Asians and Indians are actually headed back home, too. California is having its largest "brain drain" in a century and for the first time in California's history is actually decreasing in population. All those Indians and Chinese computer programmers that came here to go to CalTech, Stanford, UC Berkeley, etc. They are taking all their knowledge, skill, and talent back home, because there are no jobs for them.

Blaming any hardworking low to middle class person, no matter where they are from or what their ethnicity, is not the problem. 98% of the world only wants whats best for them, their families, and their communities. Its their leaders that have tricked and enslaved them into tax programs, debt and credit schemes, and endless labor. Blame the ruling class and their programs. Why do you think that the banks and the media turn it around and blame YOU, that you are "taking too much from the system", "spending too much", "not paying enough tax". Its all by design, they have build a consumer-based slave-labor society and you are just a pawn on a chess board, a slave on a ship. You are required to employ, food, and house yourself.

I mean, really, debt-based monetary system, fractional reserve banking, IMF, World Bank loans and sanctions, forced privatization of public utilities. The problem is capitalism and we are seeing its downfall as we speak.

My best friend's father, mother, brothers and sisters where from a small shit hole town in mexico. The United States has never stole a inch of land from mexico we bought it from the "mexico" government for 25 million dollars the rest was won in wars instigated by mexico. 25 million would equate to trillions of dollar in today money. Mexico is actually having a shortage of corn because the majority of the US produced corn goes into "GREEN" ethanol manufacturing. So know they can be that great agriculture country again so why haven't they LOL. You never said anything about communist china who is the largest importer of agricultural produce doesn't that hurt mexico? Mexico also has substantial mineral and oil resources in their country and off their coast line. They also pay income tax only once in their life, that is why they don't have the infrastructure we have. There real economy comes from illegal workers in the states sending untaxed money south of the border and from their narco trafficking.

Mexico isn't really that poor there economy has been growing largely because of the money sent back from the states and the 1.5 billion that good old hilary pledged them to fight "wink wink" crime. I 100% agree with you that blaming the middle and low class no matter what color or creed they are is wrong and that alot of the problems come from are politicians both republican and the democrat.
