It`s so dam dry this year. I`m more and more worried about fires.

Yeah, was a very close call here yesterday. A guy down the road had his water pump running and walked off to do something else and it started a fire. Thank God the choppers dropping water along with the ground crews got it out!

Was choppers and planes flying back and forth overhead for hours.

I got pics of the choppers and planes in my thread if you care to see.

And at my other place a couple days ago my full time guy dropped his cigarette on the ground and went to bed. Started a fire!

Thankfully a good friend happened to be stopping by there to borrow my water pump and put it out before it was too outta hand...

fucking dumb asses I swear

Be safe folks!

Mark your work ethic is humbling. I love stopping thru and checking on ya. your thread transports me to the mountain thank you.

My work ethic isn`t the problem ! It`s my dam paralyzed left foot and the numbness in my other hands and feet cause by nerve damage from diabetes that slows me down so bad! Also I have to stay somewhat hungry in order to have my blood sugar under control, makes me have so little energy and I`ve lost a lot of muscle along with all the weight I`ve dropped. Eating more protein now seems to help. I`m almost completely off carbs now! My blood fat is also under control for the first time in my life! I`m doing what I can, but it`s a struggle. I hate going into a supermarket anymore and looking at 85% of the food that I can`t eat anymore! I`ve lost so much weight my skin hangs on me now! I`m still over weight according to most experts despite this.

For years now I have been using polyvinyl bags with floaty rings for water storage.
HPIM2293
These pools hold up well, and are the cheapest form of water impound I know of.
All you need is a flat place.
For years I have been overwintering water in them with no losses other than one year the ice pulled out a plug.
Pictured is a 12 foot diameter 1300 gal pool that cost $110.
The 18 footer holds 5700 gal. and only cost a few hundred on sale.
Over the years I have only lost one float ring to UV degradation.
Most damage is biological.
Had a young bull jumping in and out as I hit him with bbs.
He liked the pool and didn't want to leave.
That pool was beyond repair,

I agree with the pools, except it can be hard to keep them clean and algae free

These are a really good choice if you can afford the space they take up and the initial investment

Military water bladders, I think that shop in oroville sells them too, Advanced Garden Supply

Mark You could channel rain water and creek water into this all winter long and have all your water needs met for next year

Also Mark look into Solaroof greenhouse covering. @fishwhistle mentioned it to me a while back. I think it is what you will want

All good info thanks! Problem with water bladders is I have limited space and the ground is not level anywhere around me! The right size would be good for the bed of my truck to move water with though! I could even see to back up!

I started to stain the lumber for the last support and ended up not feeling to well. I felt better later and fetch water instead. I got enough to fill my tanks for now and started some tea for the ladies. I should get two more loads of water, enough to replace what s used watering in the morning and to fill the 325 gal tank I use to mix tea in for watering with ferts. My son can do the morning watering and stain the lumber . We`ll get the last supports up then and start on the screens. I`ve made the tea high in nitrogen /bat guano so the ladies will thrive and send up new soots from under the screens. Not sure how the sceening is going to go as the plants are so big now they won`t need to do much to fill up the screens. The larger ones will ether have to be staked and tied, have wire fence loops put on or have the screen very high from the ground so the stems don`t snap. I`ll have to top some if I use screen on them or maybe bend them under the screens? Monday I`ll call around for availability of water tanks/delivery times and check into plastic , vents, and fans.

I really don`t have much time for a relation ship right now, but yep been awhile since my ex passed away, was married for almost 10 years. Not sure I`d want to be married again ,GF would be nice though!

My son went on a date and decided he won`t be back until tomorrow morning/afternoon some time. Now I will have to water again in the morning along with getting two loads of water and maybe staining the lumber? This is the kind of stuff that happens when a woman comes into the picture. I do want him to be happy though! Maybe if this works out well for him he won`t be out dating all the time and I`ll get more work out of him? Or even better I`ll get a second worker? LOL! Hope she knows how to trim good!

gf = 100's of girls . wife = 1. one is what u need . sucks when you lose that one and have to find a 2nd one but its still better then having a gf/toy.

Not very many ladies around in the forest. I`m about 40 miles from the nearest pavement. Hardly ever see anyone out here. When I do they drive right on by because they have as much to do as I have with their gardens. I really don`t have time for anyone, don`t get to see my kids / grandkids much even other than my son who came out to help me. Trips to town suck. I rush to get as much done as I can while I`m in town and get back up the hill late every time . Most of the time I put what has to be put away in the freezer and unload in the morning. From Spring to Fall I work all day outside and in the winter I trim. I don`t have time to even go fishing/hunting ! I lost everything from the Bankers and I`m trying my best to start from scratch. I`d love to have a good wife but I don`t get a lick of sleep when with a woman. I know myself and I`d never get anything done if I had a wife except have more children !

My youngest child is in her 30`s ! Oh my !

If he can't put the females on the back burner then maybe his perentage should go down accordingly.

He is family so maybe hard to do that. But this shit ain't a fuckin game. Yeah, tell them their dates need to consist of helping you on the land! Screw going to town!

I'm sending you good vibes for energy and a strong back and hands that work well for you today Mark!

I just need to win the lotto and get this shit going! Time is not on my side. Comments like thoughts from greyarea just reminds me of how old I am to be starting over from scratch (again and again). Curses to the Bankers and the rippers who sealed my fait ! Well not much I can do about the past now. I am showing some progress although the game seems to be changing as I go along. Off to do chores and then get to work!

Focused is the problem with me. Sometimes I think I have ADD . I`m a good planer but when it comes to doing I get way to many irons in the fire at once. When things don`t go as planned I just can`t seem to jump to something else until a certain amount of progress is achieved. If I don`t see the expected progress I shut down, I get discussed and often I scrap a whole project regardless of an consequences. That`s where my son jumps in and talks me out of a lot of foolishness! I was almost ready to pull all my plants the other day because I`m not sure if I can get the screens in. I`m running very behind on things and the plants are growing much faster than I expected. He talked me out of it this time. I`m still not sure how I`m going to keep them contained in the greenhouses or do supports for the expected heavy colas. I`m so used to being behind in planting I didn`t take into account the size they would achieve so early. I should have allowed for this when constructing the greenhouses and made them wider and taller. The only plants that are growing slowly are the SFV OGK, they could be a little bigger. They seem to have a lot of difference in nutrient need and were in nute lock. I think I have that solved. I`ll be taking pics again as soon as the supports are done and I can clean up a little for the photos. The plants have 5-6 weeks before they go into flower and I`m uncertain how much stretch to expect when that happens. They are going to outgrow the greenhouses. Because of the rain just before harvest every year it would not be advised to leave the plastic off! way to much risk even in a very dry year! I`m rushing to get them covered before a thunder storm comes along as it could.

grayarea why are you so infatuated with my sex life? Not here to talk about sex unless it involves plants! Might be different if you were a lady and was interested in me or something , but ... that would be better done in PM`s anyway.

Son got back, I`ve left the staining of the lumber and the 325 gal water tank filled with water and tea for him to do tomorrow. I need to go to town and pay bills and stuff. Been checking out plastic ( three lair woven) and two places that have it on hand, one in Sacramento and one in Grass Valley. Going to give them a call in the morning. Need the plastic on hand so I can put it up ASAP ! end walls can wait. Been looking at using solar attic fans on the ends but can`t find good solar fans for circulation inside of the greenhouses. I could use attic fans or set up a 45 watt 12v panel and group 31 batteries with a inverter? Going to cost but I need it set up solar so I don`t have to run the generator. thinking the fans should run at night as well as in the day. I want at least one greenhouse set up for winter with everything 12 volt or propane except the lights. They only need to run a few hours a day to extend the light cycle for veg and not during flower. I think there would be enough light even in winter for flowering if It`s warm enough for te plants to grow. I`m a little worried about soil temps though.
