We'll it looks like I'm coming to the end of my 6 gal micro and bloom(h3ad recipe) I'm thinking of taking the plung into mixing my own nutes, is 100-100-150-60 profile still what people in coco are shooting for? What do you guys pay for 50lb bags for a 6 pack? I'm looking for some one local but it seems in looking for the wrong terms(they tell me they only have blends).... If I can't find it local I'll have to get it per 20lbs on the net. Lmk guys

I figured someone would've responded here. I personally don't have my profile set and I believe many people still use their own variations. However, I do have several profiles written down that various people use.

Fatman
3-1-2 Veg
2-1-3 Flower
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 40ppm

Yosemite Sam
Altered Fatman's
3-1-4 Veg
2.5 -1 -4.4 Flower
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 40ppm

Capulator newest (he started w/ yosemite formula)
2.75 -1 - 3.74 Veg
2 - 1 - 4.4 Flower
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 50 ppm

Jalisco Kid
2 - 1 - 4 Veg
2 - 1 - 4.6 Flower
1.3 - 1 - 3.6 Boost
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 60 ppm (excluding boost P= 90)

Dankworth
2 - 1 - 5 Flower
1.2 - 1 - 3.5 Boost
Nitrate is the hinge element @ 120 ppm

Dizzlekush
4.28 -1 - 4.71 Veg
3 - 1 - 3.3 Flower
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 35 (veg) and 50 (bloom)

Various Jack's Pro Hydro Users

-MFG recommendation (3.69 / 2.44 / 1)
2.85 - 1 - 4.12 Entire grow
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 50 ppm

-Yosemite Sam first to ever use jacks' (3/2/1)
2.86 - 1 - 4.12 Entire grow
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 41 ppm

-Some currently use (3/1.8.1)
2.67 - 1 - 4.12 Entire grow
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 41 ppm

Ur uhm..... Lucas formula
1 - 1 - 2 Entire grow
Phosphorus is hinge element @ 100ppm

I know there are tons of other "named" profiles over the last 100 years and I'm probably excluding many that are over 20 years or so. These are various profiles that I know have been used with any great frequency for the last 5-6 years I suppose. Really there are a lot of similarities to them all and if you follow from the first mention of the 3-1-2 ratio; you can see where everyone made changes and such.

I know this doesn't end up saying how you should run, but many of these are pretty darn close. Exlcuding the lucas formula all ratios are appx 2-3 : 1 : 3.5-4.5

Hope this helps

where are you located? I have had sourcing problems as well.... in northern Oregon an ag distributer Marion Ag carries salts.....I usually have to have them shipped....customhydronutrients.com carry 1 and 4 lb salt bags.... It costs more in shipping than the salts itself.... but I am still using the salts I purchased last year.... I run coco and use jacks with map, mkp, agsil, cano3, mgso4,k2so4 and m.o.s.t.........I have tried a lot of these recipies listed... all worked pretty well... Currently I am giving Capulators formula a try...... I believe it is veg.... 149-45-118-136-47-75 bloom...114-45-148-109-47-75.......n-p-k-ca-mg-s.....

Thanks bro, I'm tring to figure out what this all means haha I'm reading https://www.thcfarmer.com/community...y-thread-can-beat-up-your-thread.45906/page-8 this thread. I gotta get the set it and forget it thing outta my head lol.

I'm in ca, central/northern area. If I can't find it local I will prob go thru mbferts.com, his prices "seem" fair buy I haven't found it locally yet. Prob use jacks most as my micro mix, I figure if it doesn't work for me I can mix the componets to max bloom micro for the h3ad formula lol

Thanks again guys

ye sorry if those numbers were confusing. The numbers I gave are "ratio numbers" and also gave the "hinge" for that ratio. For example Fatman's 3-1-2 (with P hinge @ 40) would mean 3 x P is the nitrate value; or 120 ppm and 2 x P 80 would be the potassium value there. So, fatman's first veg targets would be 120-40-80 for ppms. The ratio's are often given instead of ppm's, and can be more simple, provided that they are given with one value known.

Make sure you get familiar with one of the calculators and good luck :)

I use about 40gal every other day, I plan to make a A&B stock solutions and tweek it from there.

a 50lb bag of yarra cal nitrate is about $25-35........ I still have a mostly full 5 gallon pail.... bought it a year ago.... use around 300gal a week. Although the first six months of the year I was using around 150-200 a week.

Wow! It's costing me $140 for 6g micro and 6g of bloom haha, salts are much much less expensive. I figure it will cost 200-250 for all the salts and it should last a couple yrs haha nice..

I know I can get 20lbs of each from mbferts.com for less than 200 shipped but I'm still looking for a local source. Crop production services keeps coming up, any one know if they sell to the public?

The savings is pretty awesome... Gh is great base but to formulate something similar with any bottle fertilizer u would be running through a lot of bottles..

Many of the profiles u already mentioned all work, u just have to make sure the apply correctly to ur needs..

Btw the ratios % are relating to how much ppm of each element.. What ur referring to the hinge factor, really ends up being the lowest common denominator per say.. 100-100-200 = 400ppm so reducing this to the lowest factor u would get 1-1-2..
2-1-4, 1-1-4,2-1-3,1.5-1-3.5 , they all work if u have something u currently like or u like the look of ur current product, just match ur salt version to it and go from there.. Makes for easy transition to the salts...

I am a Jacks Pro user and I have only been at it a short time
14 mths 3 grows and the adjusted 2% difference is minimal per gal of mix I suggest staying with your base line what ever that is and
use one tester plant with an amended 2% change
something tells me you shouldn't see a difference unless you exceed 10%

FYI I have been reading up on and using RAW amendments to fine tune my gardens mix and it is a good source for pure Hydro nutes IMHO www.raw-solubles.com

good Luck and sending ya
