I've started using diatomite to mix with my coco. It's my first run with it but so far results are outstanding.
These are 5.5 weeks old and have been topped twice and LST religiously every day.
Looking mighty fine there organix

Thanks !! It's been a real learning experience. This is my first grow with hempys and coco as the main medium. I've used it in my organic super soil before as an amendment. Im blown away by the speed these grow at in coco!!!
To compare my best friend is growing in promix hp and the other day he stopped in and said "holy shit , my plants are 1 week older and only half the size!!"
Next run he's switching to coco hempys lol

I tried talking my dad into coco for years before I got him to switch. Kinda hard trying to sell a 70 year old man on new ideas when he'd been running hydro for so long. He's almost done with his first run now and he's keeps commenting on growth rates and plant health. Hes thoroughly impressed with the coco and keeps joking around with me saying a good son would of told him about it years ago. Claiming he has no memory of the many times I tried to pushing it on him. It's good to see my old man excited about growing at his age and nailing it first run. I preach coco to anyone who's willing to listen and have converted many people I know. I tell people near or equal to hydro growth rates and yeilds with a soil quality end product

I use liquid karma in my tea feeding now at 5 ml per gal. I do a feed, feed, tea and repeat. Been running hydrponic reasearch veg and bloom hd fomula for my feeds and loving it. Super easy stuff.
How is the feed, feed ,tea, workin out for you ,does it keep the salts down of any lockouts?

@Rootbound Where you source your coco from is key. Also key is how the supplier processes the coco. As coco is derived from coconut husks the coco can be very high in salts. Proper processing and buffering is important. @Tnelz is accomplished with coco you might ask him for assistance in either a PM or he can be found in his superthread Tnelzs "about whatever".

Here is some more info on coco

Great article you posted @pigfarmer

Thanks for the heads up @jumpincactus but my post you quoted post was 7 yrs ago. I got coco pretty dialed in now.

Have you tried using tea as a flush till the end of harvest?
yea buddy if you aint got coco dialed by now I will never make the switch. Would think that is some pretty tough stuff to learn. I do believe this was one of those " Theres your sign" moments. I am such a dufus sometimes. Real stoner moment this was. :smoking:
