I'd love to hear from @Graywolf or anyone else who's done hexane extractions on this, is there a standard ratio of hexane to wash material? I plan on using hexane to refine full spectrum bubble hash and while I can experiment and find out, it is much faster to ask the question.

Also, below is my purposed process. I am forgetting anything important or adding a useless redundancy?

Starting from bubble hash, let dissolve in hexane for 12 hours occasionally mixing and burping.

Filter through unbleached coffee filter and add to separatory funnel.

Wash with super saturated salt water, allow hexane/salt water mixture to separate, drain and repeat multiple times.

Vacuum boil and reclaim hexane via vacuum distilling kit.

Add small amount of ISO or ethanol and dry via thin film.

Vac purge.

Thoughts? In regards to the salt water wash, is it still useful to winterize afterwards?

Thanks!

Kif shouldn't have that much wax in it to extract, so winterizing probably not necessary.

Hexane has only around a 1.3 dielectric constant, so not prone to extract water solubles, so the salt water wash is probably not necessary.

What is necessary, is a good purge, because our livers can turn the residual hexane into 2.5 hexane dione, a known carcinogen.

Thanks! Eliminating those excess steps will save me a bunch of time. I definitely will be purging the concentrate

That may eventually be the method I utilize. I'm a curious person, though, and since hexane does not pick up water, I think I can wash the bubble right after separation and skip the drying step. If I do that in my separation funnel, I should be able to separate and drain any remaining water

Again, thank you both for your replies! I appreciate the input
