Thanks to all the THCFarmer community.

I am going to start my first grow (4-6 plants) with a journal with my wife. I have already made a few decisions on what my setup will be like, and based on that I would really appreciate any expertise and advice that can help me have a successful grow.

I still have about 3-4 weeks to start from seed since I am waiting for the equipment needed for my indoor growroom. Therefore, I want to take advantage of the time I still have to make sure everything is setup the best I can (terms of knowledge and budget).

Thanks again

So here is the breakdown of my setup:

Empty bedroom/air: 9f length 10ft width x 10ft height (with one side with opening doors with air flow - plan to seal up leaving a bit of cool air flow from bottom with screen to prevent dust from entering) + (x2) fans) also bought a dehumidifier since humidity too high here.
AK48 from seeds (4-6) and possibly some freebies (have not yet arrived from NirvanaSeed Shop)
Medium: 650g coco coir brick (x2) hydrated and mixed with (x1) 8quarts perlite
pots:solocups for seedlings until transplanted to 1gallon plastic poly bags, then 3 gallon plastic poly bags
lights: (1x) 400w MH iPower cooled hood set, (x1) 600w HPS iPower cooled hood set
exhaust: (x2) 240cfm fans for lamps with 6ft duct (still havent bought carbon filter, but will) and exhaust ducts will be airtighly fitted to another bedroom window on the other side of the room.
nutes plan on using: General Hydroponics Flora Series QT - FloraGro, FloraBloom, and FloraMicro, 32 oz each and General Hydroponics CaliMagic for Gardening, 1-Quart, Maxicrop Liquid Seaweed Qt, Xtreme Gardening Mykos Pure Mycorrhizal Inoculant, 100 g, 2 Count
Misc items: Oakton EcoTestr pH 2 Waterproof pH Tester, 0.0 to 14.0 pH Range, AcuRite 00613A1 Indoor Humidity Monitor, General Hydroponics GH1514 Ph Control Kit, 4x25ft reflective mylar roll

Still dont know which schedule ill be using for the nutes still more research to be done, if anyone can help please do so.

Environment:

We currently live in the caribbean. Temperate and humidity (since I have researched) must be controlled to make the best out of this grow.

Climate here is like this:

Temperature: coldest month (Feb.) averages 76°F; hottest month (Jun.) averages 82°F. (as far as im concerned i should be making sure my plants be between those ranges - possible a little cooler with 2 fans)

Humidity levels:
lowest RH (Mar.) 79.3%
highest RH (Oct.) 85.7%
*I have heard that optimal humidity should vary throughout the different growth stages of the plants. Since I have 1 dehumidifier, I wanted to know if there is a safe range to keep all my plants in since I plan on having both flowering plants and seedlings and vegetative stage plants all in the same bedroom. If not any ideas to having two different humidity environments in the same bedroom (considering I'm on a low-intermediate budget).

I think I have covered mostly everything I need to make this work out for us and enough description so that you guys have an idea of what we have planned out. If I am missing anything, or anything that just doesn't sound right, please let us know.

Thank you all!! <3 Hope you all enjoy this as much as we will

Sounds like you inherited the gear... lol.. nothing wrong with that, you cant run veg, and flowering in the same room unless you separate them. I thinkbyou should do more research before starting. Just so you get the basics down. Humidity has got to be much, much lower during flowering, like 50% maybe a bit lower. Also invest in a carbon filter. Seriously.. you have 900 cubic ft in the wholr room. Uhmmmm... research, look around here. Theres a lot of useful info and helpful people here. Best of luck.

Thanks so much :). But considering that I will only be using 1 600w hps for 4-6 plants,(not using whole room) I could use iPower 6inch 1050+IAV right?

When it comes to vegetative plants. I have decided to create a small tent with clone dome to control a different humidity level.

How does that sound?

Thanks again :)

IAV ? Im not sure what that means. Fans are rated in cubic feet per minute. CFM, i wouldnt use a 600W light for an area greater than a 4×4 area, 6 plants topped, pruned, trellised and given propper time in veg should give you easily 14 oz and at minimum 8oz even for a 1st time grow. I think you should get 5gl fabric pots with more room to grow roots your plants will be available to uptake more nutrients. And with a 600W hps you will probably be better off watering every other day. The fabric will allow your roots to breathe. As far as "BUILDING" your own tent... i dont recomend it, you might be better of buying a shelf system and put a single fluorescent tube over propagation trays with they're appropriate humidity domes. Make sure you put up a curtain wall that prevents all light from your vegetating chamber from leaking into your flowering section or they will go hermaphrodite on you. Best of luck to you. Feel free to hmu with any questions or problems should they arise. PEACE ✌

Cant thank you more!! :). Thats exactly what I plan on doing. i plan on buying another 600w hps to cover the other 4x4 area, but dont have enough money to start that big yet. so i decided to start with only 4x4 space being used. I also plan on separating the room to prevent light leaks as you have said ( thanksssss :]) and i plan on using my 400w mh for vegging plants. I also decided to buy a clone dome to control humidity for the clones.. but what do you think about the vegging plants (when they get bigger and dont fit in clone domes) ...they wont be receiving the proper humidit since the flowering part of the room must have low humidity...do you think it will be good to have them sitting there under the 400w mh i bought? or am i just better off keeping my clones inside their domes with the appropriate humidity until they are ready to be set to flowering..,... the reason for my question is that if im not mistaken... i need a few more weeks of growth after clones to induce flowering to that i have a decent size plant to get buds off of.i hope i didnt make it too hard to understand.... thanks so much++++

If your strapped for cash, use the MH in conjunction with the 600w hps, you'll get better CRI; (color render index) it will be more balanced + you'll have more lumens for bud production. Buy a regular fluorescent t8 6 bulb fixture. You can keep your clones under and veg them under that fixture. You'll be surprised how well vegetative growth takes place under these fixtures. Short internodes and overall healthier growth.

ok. perfect. i will do so.. i think this is going to work out just perfectly now with this new idea you have got me (just keeping all vegging plants in domes until ready for flowering...just one question: how big do those domes have to be (considering the size of clones from day they are planted till they are fully grown and redy to transplant for flowering.. any recommendations on dome size and pots that i could use inside the dome?

Buy from any regular hardware store, t8 consume more electricity but are cheaper for startup. Make your cuttings about 7" keep them under the dome only till they show roots. Your not going to keep them under the dome until you flip to flower. Just till they show roots, the domes for transpiration purposes only. Once they root take the dome off immediately or they will rot. Just transplant to 1gl container and continue under the fluorescents for 3 weeks. Make sure to top them at least once to increase bud sites and encourage lateral growth. You can switch to t5 when you get your money up. If you do, try to get VHO bulbs. (Very High Output)

gotit. will do.. the only question is that i wont be able to have constant cannabis production since when i remove from dome, thos plants will be in the same room (except for lighting matters, since it will be separated) but with the same humidity as flowers(low humidity).. will this be a problem for me? i want to harvest buds constantly if you know what i mean

Not necessarily, higher RH during veg translates to faster lusher growth but at 45 to 50 RH wich is where you want to be during flowering it wont hurt the plants in veg it just may slow theyre growth in such a diminutive matter that you wont notice the difference anyhow. Dont worry ! In this split system you can stagger your growth to where you can harvest 3 plants every 15 days if you like. I dong recommend it because of different nutritional needs though. Just flip 6 once those are flipped clone 8 keep those under the dome for 7 days or until they show roots. Uncover them and keep them under the fluorescents top and prune them. By the time you harvest all first six, those 8 will be blowing up overcrowding the veg space. Keep the 2 best and flower the other 6. Like this every 60 to 65 days you'll be harvesting all 6. The 2 best ones you kept will be your mother plants. You should have at least a minimum of 8oz per harvest. Thats considering your own admitted skill level. But once you dial it in with propper genetics and technique you can pull 32oz off that same rig.
