Dude that's a catfish if I do say so myself!......no really the scales got rubberlip written all over it. Carp
Thank you for the pictures, but you forgot the bikini girls. Next time.
I didn't think there would be that much traffic that high up. I thought everyone goes into the park so they can stop in the middle of the road and take selfies with elk. Last year we were coming down to eat lunch in Granby and there was a park ranger who was trying to manage tourists trying to get close to a moose and her calf. Flippin tourists and selfie sticks. Put down the camera and enjoy the experience. The only thing they remember is taking a million pictures, not actually enjoying the activity.
It's crazy to me that the 'old' route, the only way up and around was backwards up Fall River. Google image searching the flood is saddening, although the new route of the river in my 'spot' has created some great structure. I can't wait until the road opens.
I'm amazed at the sheer ignorance of the average weekend trekker. I like to snowshoe around Guanella Pass, there is a small private lake that has a natural population of greenback cutthroat, there is also ruins from a very old homestead that used to belong to the Coors family. I was lucky enough to d o some sidework for someone important and we were given permission to fish and hike around. Amazing. The history around this state, mining, building road and rails into and through the mountains, is something else.
I still am able to find solitude in and around the park. It's a special place to me
Awesome shots. Your right about the shrooms in that part of the country. Save some for me..... :DHere's some more, these are from the anti-fun state Utah but still beautiful place. Mushrooms should be sold alongside the roads in these places. Castle Valley, UT. Heading out for a day on the mountain bike.

I actually lifted it up out of the puddle with a stick and looked at it, it looked like it had jaundice. Thats why I said it was diseased. I should have taken a pic then . Lol.It does look like a carp in the pic but i beleive shroomking because he was there and got a better look at it.Now if he was telling us how BIG of basscarp it was that might be a different story, lol.
Bass are members of the sunfish family. Carp however, are not.I actually lifted it up out of the puddle with a stick and looked at it, it looked like it had jaundice. Thats why I said it was diseased. I should have taken a pic then . Lol.
On a side note. I was on family land. The lakes were only originally stocked with catfish and bass. No one has caught carp or any type of sunfish there yet. Not saying it couldn't happen. Lol
Tuna fish On the bottomCatfish or Carp?
All i see is a nice assCatfish or Carp?
I think we should really look into this. Shroom, can you please get some water samples from that body of water, so that we can analyze and judge the species of the fish in question (FIQ). It would probably be a good idea to pull DNA samples as well, so that we can better analyze your observations, which are clearly innacurate. For the record, that's a fish called a blue marlin. It's a different sub-species that was considered a hybrid until the fine folks and the DOW reclassified it to lower the potential poaching of said trapped bass. I'll start google image searching for stranded bass, maybe someone made a missed connection on craigslist. Someone make a poll.It was this kind of bass. (Largemouth)View attachment 594205
After it had spent approximately 3 weeks in that mud puddle.

All you basstards were right. No its definately a carp.
damnit, deal.Oh yeah, the carp. Back in KS where I grew up you would get made fun of if you caught one...here in CO people post pictures with them like its a trophy. I thinks its bcause there are more sport fisherman in CO and in KS everyone was just fishing for meat. And carp taste like shit. Hey, just no pictures of the one eyed trouts...okay?
