Starting to plan out materials needed for my first microgrow. I'm looking at tents and I'm setting into the idea of a scrog grow for just a couple plants. Smell will be a concern as I do own my own home but lots of visits from the grandparents. Lightning is where I'm stumped led or hps. I'm thinking of a 600w but I will defer to the professionals. I'm a simple toker my friends so any help will be much appreciated.

It would help the forum out if you provided dimensions of your space.

I personally would do a 600watt with matching tent 2.5×2.5×6, or 3×3×6.

Either one of those tents will have plenty
of room for charcoal filters and fans etc

My bad bro. I was thinking of a 3x3x6 wife should let me get away with that. I was planning on matching my fan with my light I've read 1 cfm per watt is a good rule for hps. But not sure on the LEDs. I've been reading this thread to get ideas I like how he used a uvb light to help with tricome development. But I really don't know my head from my ass so please excuse the stupid question.

A 600 watt would be perfect for that tent size.

And as far as uvb is concerned.
One of the main functions of trichome development is protection from uv radiation. The other is helping prevent the plant from drying out in low rh% environments.

I'm using my mh this flower to compare to the hps last grow.
One of the main things I'm noticing is the extra frost from the added uv radiation off the m.h.

You could buy clip on light reflector's with uvb reptile bulbs in addition to your main lighting .

600/cool tube is an excellent and economical choice for you,if you go led I'd look at Pacificlightconcepts.com cxp420,more expensive but a badass cob led system.

I had a eureka moment while out burning one. I don't really need a tent I've got a whole closet full of crap. Just measured and its 3ftx10x9 only problem I gotta find a place for crap. Walls already flat white, has a a/c vent for fresh air and can vent into act tic with a carbon or charcoal filter. Perfect for a scrog just need to build brackets to raise screen. Very close to the breaker panel. And drain for hot water heater. Gotta sneak junk out:ninja::ninja:

That's what interested me was the tricomes being a byproduct of the plant protecting itself from the uv bulb.

FYI:
Just because a plant has a lot of “frost”
Does not garuntee that it has a lot of thc
