Powdery Mildew 1 Week From Harvest. Ok To Harvest?

I was planning to harvest my outdoor within the next week, and after a spat of rainstorms and cool weather, just noticed a powdery mildew outbreak. From what I can tell, it's not on the buds really, and is not widespread yet. Mostly lower leaves. I've fixed some environmental conditions that were raising humidity (mulch underneath plants, insulating blanket at night that was getting wet from rain), but I wanted to know if this is dangerous to harvest/dry now.

I'm taking measures to knock back the PM. Aside from fixing environmental conditions, I sprayed them down with an herbal concoction last night to kill PM. I plan to do a 10% milk spray this weekend too.

My question is: is this a potential loss? Is it dangerous to dry/cure/smoke bids that recently had PM? I'm hoping that I can knock it back over next few days to the point that's it's not really visible, but still worries me. I'm 100% organic and will only use natural products on the plants. Thanks!

In first pic, you can see it on fan leaf below bud. Luckily, the bigger bids on top aren't affected as much.

@Bulldog420 why no milk? I figured this would be safe on cured product. H peroxide is good idea
Milk is more of a preventive. use the peroxide at 1:10 it'll wash away the mildew, it won't kill it but it will get it off your plant, spray daily then at the end rinse the plant to make sure any residuals are off. It sucks getting problems that late. If this is a common problem for you, you could build a sulfur burner and make a tent around the plant. Sulfur burning is like throwing acid in the face of pm. Also if you can lower the ph of the leaves it'll make it a hostile environment for pm. You can also use a alcohol mixture 1:10 to kill some of the pm but the alcohol doesn't wash it off. Hope this helps, good luck and good vibes man

1 tablespoon baking soda to a quart. Baking soda kills PM leaves no residue changes the ph of the leaves. You can spray buds up to the day of harvest. Remember pm is systemic once it gets on your plant its in your plant. Now you have to manage the PM infestation. You can also ad one drop of dish soap it will help soda stay on the plant longer. I prefer not to because it leaves a residue. If you do make sure it's not antibacterial.

Dont use milk or anything else like that. Hydrogen peroxide if needed. Too late for anything else. Doesn't look too bad right now, but it multiplies quickly. I would harvest if it continues to get worse personally.
I'm still an advocate for the isopropyl Tx here. Doesn't even really leave water behind.

Also, you made mention of the Jorge Cervantes video, and I've done that washing (but got a little grossed out by how much actual DIRT came off) and it works well. Just be certain to shake the plants off/dry before hanging, and check a few times each day.

Thinking I'll try the peroxide or alcohol. Thanks!

Sounds like the general consensus is that if the problem is mostly under control, that it IS ok to harvest and use buds. Correct?

Great! That's a relief. I woke up twice on Friday night having nightmares about it lol.

I did a 10% isopropyl spray last night and it worked wonders! Not irradicated, but it's almost totally gone now, and the only PM trying to make a come back is on the lower/under growth. Looks like things are under control! Thanks so much. Alcohol was the charm.

Does the alcohol wash off the trichome tops?

Update: I continued to spray the 10% alcohol every other day for about a week. It didn't ever fully irradicate the PM, but seemed to knock it back and keep it at bay. I harvested after a week, and only kept the top buds for smoke. The stems that were up and away from the plants had only trace amounts of PM on fan leaves, if any at all - it was mostly in the undergrowth.

I harvested all the smaller buds from the middle of the plant that definitely had PM on the surrounding leaves. They are in the freezer with trim, and my plan is to just cook with them to kill any spores that are mixed in (of which I'm sure there are millions).

This was a small experimental outdoor run, so not a big loss. I'm going to make several changes for next year though. The primary change will be not growing them so packed together. I'll do some preventative milk sprays throughout the season too.

Oh, and I smoked some of the buds that were around the PM to see what would happen :opps:. Didn't notice any throat irritation or lung irritation. Not sure what the implications are, but I didn't notice anything.

PM can give you flu "like symptoms". My dad is a doctor and just had this conversation. At worst, PM will give a healthy person flu like symptoms, minus a fever. Should also only last as long as 12-24 hours after exposure. More of an allergic reaction than an immune system trigger.

If you have a weak immune system, any infiltration or weakening can be life threatening.
