Hi all, posted a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, but same topic. Helped a dude out with advice on mounting an AC unit inside his grow room. But anyway, I'm a professional engineer who also designed and built my own grow box, make some crazy stuff from all kinds of different materials. If you need any D.I.Y. advice I'm happy to help!

I am bored so ill think of something so we can have a chat I want to bring air in to my flower room how can I do this with out light getting in to that room

kind of thinking about some thing like a shut off... a kind of flap I can turn to open and close it so its air/light tight
something like a car air vent

Lol you don't take anyone's word do you Event. Well basically without giving away too much about myself, I manufacture elevator lift cars, shaft steelwork, all related components. No electrical, City and Guilds level 3 diploma in Sheet Metal fabrication and welding. So basically yes structural, as well as designing and developing new ideas. But do all kinds of other stuff here too, like today I was fitting Sheet metal racking in a Mercedes Vito van. Which I had to design myself. Convinced?

Do you have passive intakes or fan drawing air in? Either way, get a cardboard box and rip the lid flaps off. Stick this with the open side covering your inlet, then another hole at the bottom to let air in. It's what I used on my DIY box and it works great. I also combined the light blocker and made a bug blocker by gluing a piece of water filter foam, like you use on fish tanks, and stuck it over my passive intake hole, then glued the box light blocker thingy over that. Will get some pics after work!

Lol... OK ok.. haha...
Really I asked because I got a technological dilemma that I need to put together to control a 6" heating vent to open when it receives a 110v signal from a temp controller. I'm trying to pull heat 9th my main house ducts, but I only want it to open when Temps tell it to. That way I'm not throwing heat into my grow room constantly every time the heat kicks on..

We don't have machine operators at our place, only skilled people who can actually set and use the thing. And we use SolidWorks for all our CAD drawings. And Radan for programming our CNC punch machine.

Well if you are getting engineers pay for machine operating. .. hats off to you.. not for sure what the pay scale and difference is where your at but here its 14-19 hr machine operators.... 22 -30 hr engineering...
Structual...

Hopefully he gets paid to do it all. They get engineering out of me at machine operators pay...
