There is a app that tells you how many hours of sunlight are in that day and on and a bunch of extra stuff that has to do with moons and phases

I have to say this summer I had a crush haze and a afghani kush plant , both were hit with moonlight , streetlights , neighbors porches , they still flowered fine no problem at all and in mass it's only dark from about 8 pm till 530 am ..that's like 9 hours max when they started flowering and they did it no issues , I never got why the whole 12 12 thing had to be pitch dark inside ..I messed around and found over time that you can give a plant 8 hours light and 12 dark and it'll flower , you can give em 12 hours light then 13 hours dark and no problems , I gave a few 10 hours of dark then a 12 period of light no problem so there's definitely some wiggle room with the dark hours , I also read an article where a lab messed with light times and they were saying you could give a plant 24 hours of light one night as long as you hit it with a solid 12 hours dark after ..they were pretty scientific about it they were ttying to see if they could up the end quantity by giving more light bit still give the plants 12 hours dark after every light cycle and it actualy worked ..I'm sure if you just left it on 24 hours light for days it would end up reverting to veg and growing those crazy 1 and 3 blade leafs ..

Newbie grower here. Noticed 2 of my outdoor plants had somewhat stunted growth and only single and tri leaves on them. I think in my case it was environmental. Had some unusual weather here in the bay area. Periods of extreme heat and sun followed by a few random days of cloudy low light. Could this be the cause? I got them as clones that are supposedly sour diesel from a nearby dispensary. They have an insane amount of new growth and are intensely bushy. I put 2 blackberry fire clones out 4 weeks after the sour diesel ones that were not exposed to the irregular weather and they are easily 3x the size of the Sour D. First pics are the sour d and the last two are blackberry fire. Any suggestions thoughts etc? PS I'm glad I was able to find a forum with such valuable insight into my new addition to the vegetable garden!

Some strains do the three finger growth aswell. It can be genetics or stress.

Should I be thinning it out at all? Or let nature run It's course. It's really crowded around the main stem.
personally I would let them go awhile and clean out when that stuff is underneath new growth on the exterior.... as long as its a green leaf with access to sunlight it will fuel further growth.

My reveg experience. An example of what NOT to do.
Plant back on 5-5-17.
Germinated Feb 1 2017.
Grew under T5 18/6 for a couple months then tossed outside in late March early April.

Growth stalled, heavy flowering.
Could have been massive colas. But....here's the plant today...
The lower growth basically died off, then I stripped it. Now producing beautiful vegetation.

Plant survived through all the silly triple, single, spindly shoot, funky medina growth b.s....

Westie. What size pots are you in? I have a similar situation with too early and revegging, not they seem rootbound. I'm in 20 gal apart pots and not growing as much now. Seem to be in flower again

Old thread but I see that it's still active. I am growing outdoor with supplementation of indoor to get 18 hours of light. I wanna flower them this week but my light outside is about 14 hours right now in socal. If I just leave them outside, will they flower on their own? The nights are getting shorter, but won't reach sub 12 hours until late September.
