just got an email back from chilLED they said they will be getting their DIY stuff back in stock sometime around november.. Probably will be grabbing some of their stuff if i can get it before they sell out.. lol

Nice, make sure to clean that ph probe like once a week or so.. I didnt and it like permanently stained part of the tip on mine, can't get it fully clean no matter how hard i scrub. probably left it for a good month once or twice with no cleaning.
I usually do it every 2 weeks when i change out the system..
Probes are expensive.

What diy? The 450 watt? How much for that one?

actually I think if it actually worked as specified growers def would purchase it

I would
$25.00 usd
with updates

So wisher chiled says 3 -400 watts lights for 4x8
How high do they need for that coverage?
It needs to illuminate 3x4 each..
I couldnt find any info on that.
They say u need 36" with their 1200 watt light...

trust me, I have thought good and hard about doing things like designing an app or designing a complete online monitoring/control system. There is a thread started here somewhere about this very topic and the business model I would take.

sensors:
Basic:
light(basic on/off detection)
ambient temperature/humidity
CO2
air movement(are the fans moving air)
Hydro:
ph (for each bucket and res)
Reservoir water temperature
EC (for each bucket and res)
DO (for each bucket and res)
Soil:
moisture(possibly a gradient sensor from top to bottom)
Coco:
no idea };-)

Automation: (maybe)
ph(up/down)
lighting
nutrients

- remote monitoring/online subscriptions
- all sub-GHz communications between sensors and a gateway
- Gateway that pushes encrypted data to a cloud server for remote access
- Secure website for paid subscribers for online access(we all know how paranoid some growers can get)

WHAT ELSE??

nutrient calculator
something that actually tells you the elemental ppms
you put in nutrients and it spits out calculated ppms per element
of course you input %NPK

an add back calculator
adaptable to a par meter
runs calculation off par meter readings on where you should have you lights

I think they have 120 degree angle
yeah they have lenses

super powerful machines

each 400 gives a 3x4' spread

they say it gives a ppfd of 800 something in a 3x4 area
do you run them long ways or the other when using the ducting feature?
Cause if not long ways then your ducting would have to go like an S

One of my little ones is still droopy :( the other one perked up though. Not sheriff it's the light? I have a 600w vipar on bloom spectrum about 20" about them, getting about 250 PPFD from the light at that distance

I’m planning on doing maybe 1- 90watt diy kit for clones, 1- 175watt diy kit for veg, 3- 400 watt(double panel) diy kits for flower tent.. and of course the light controller. Might just do one 175watt for the whole veg area.. we see..

You really think your gunna need the vented version? I’m almost worried I won’t have enough heat if I swap all my hps out.. haha....

Heaters cost more to run than a/c

Here is the link for the diy kits:

I looked into this as well, I couldn't find any sensor that gave a break down N-P-K

There was a company that I completely forget the name of but they used to make current cultures nutrients and then cch2o cut them off cause it cost too much to import it from another country. But that company makes a meter that give npk break down, it’s cool but it’s $$$...

Well ducting is the only reason i would run them. I prob wouldnt be too much into the changing of the spectrum since idk much about it other than from seedling/veg/flower/harvest changes in spectrum. Maybe thats what they mean by guiding it...

Well I’m sure you will be able to orient them in the direction you need them especially if your getting the premade ones. Just email with them about it when the time comes...

The diy kits dont have the vent option though I don’t think so you will be paying like double the price.. the spectrum will be something you can mess around with, with the light controller you can adjust the spectrum in 1% increments or something like that..

Pretty cool if you ask me..

why would ducting be the reason for running them
you have a sealed room
what the hell do you need to duct them for?

makes no sense

you run an ac
which probably wont even be used if you had these
my leds literally put off 7degrees above ambient
they are fan cooled
as in an internal fan that blows across the blades of the heat sink

dude 400w of LED is like 150w of HPS in heat comparison
I bet you wouldnt even use your ac in the dead of summer down in your basement

and will probably need a heater in the winter

as for the spectrum
you would turn down the red to 50% during veg
turn up the red to full during first 3 weeks of flower
then week 4-8 turn down blue to 50%
then week of flush turn up the blue and down the red all the way
all the time white stays full power

taylored for optimal growth
