I'm a newbie and I have been watering all wrong. I do let the plant dry out before I water but I have not been flushing the old nutes out every time I water. I have been just watering until the top and middle is wet I guess and not letting it drain to waste. I found this out because my leaves started curling and drying out and I finally broke down and bought a good ppm and ph pen and I found out the my ppm was off the chart. So I know now what I'm doing wrong but could someone please tell me how to fix it. How many times do I need to flush it out? what should the ppm read when I'm where I need to be. I'm in pro-mix and feeding with jacks classic for veg. The blue stuff. The plant is about 8 weeks in veg. If you do a run off with pro mix, the pro mix reads 300 and something by itself. Should my ppm combined with the 300 be at about 1000 or around 700 and should I just water with water only for a week or should I start again at where I need to be? I sure hope that makes sense and someone can help. Thank you very much.

I don't get runoff much, but once in a while I will check it and veg is usually around 1.0 to 2.0 ec, flower can be as high as 2.5 to 3 ec.promix and Jack's also
1.0 ec =500 ppm but my water is 0 ec or about 8 to 10ppm
Could be many things that make up 300ppm of your water that the plants don't like.

Now I'm really confused. Right when I thought I had it figured out. LOL If you don't get any runoff. How does your ppm's not get high. If I water and do not water enough for a lot of it to come out the bottom my ppm would be 2000 in about 3 waterings. I'm really really confused now.

Heavy flush, let dry out. Bone meal would help immensely if you can get it in the mix.

Well they are ready to go into bigger pots after they dry out. Do you think I should order some bone meal and add it to the pro-mix when I repot them? And should I just use water the next time I water? Thanks. They were doing so well and then boom. I never even checked the runoff before now. I just checked the ppm of the solution before I watered. When they started doing bad I checked the runoff and it read over 2000.My pen would not go up that high it just blinked and blinked. after I started flushing them the pen started working again. lol

I do not check run off. I only ph my nutes to 6.0 I’m in soil. At this point I would flush with water. Let dry out, then get
17644E4E B24E 406E 95F3 152F58A7246F
and flush again. Then dry out and go back to regular feeding schedule.

If I take a pot of promix and water till the water comes out the bottom it reads 300
The water alone is 100. and the water's ph is 6.3

Might wanna check that meter also, promix new from the bag is usually around 350 to 400ppm with 0ppm water.at least mine is,they make a bunch of different mixes now I guess.i have had plants show 3500-4000 ppm and show no evidence of being unhealthy other than some light tip burn. Might want to search slurry test here and try it.i never give much credit to that first bit of runoff.you want to check the first bit,and some after a good amount has been flushed.then of ya really want to get deep, check some more runoff 30 minutes after you already flushed a half gallon or so through.after the soil has had some soak time the runoff can be much different than a very dry pot would be

What do you think the problem is then??
If your asking me,I really don't know.im not very good at diagnosing other people's problems lol.looks like nitro tox to me,could be fumes from an adjacent room being painted idk.seen leaves dry up and die like that from lack of light, high heat, chlorine in the tap water.my gas co2 burner did some crazy shit to my plants until I started exhausting the room 1 x during lights on and 1 x after lights off.sometimes it looked alot like that.cant really say from 1 or 2 marginal pics with suspect angles, least I can't haha.this is pretty common with plant problems, the more info and good pics in good lighting, the more quality help your likely to get from multiple people Imo

now I am confused because of you telling me you have had plants that read 3500-4000 and are okay. hahahahaha. I'm going back to water farm after this nightmare. lol

our exactly right about the promix readings that's what my pen says, so I know it is reading right. I had already calibrated it anyway. You give me a lot to think about. That is a bad thing. hahahaha I do appreciate it though, don't get me wrong for a second. THANKYATHANKYATHANKYA

I guess what I'm trying to figure out is. It looks like to me, if you never let the water come gush from the bottom of the plant from watering, it just seems like to me that all the nutes would stay in the pot and you would have some type of over load and burn the plant after all the feeding of the life of the plant. It seems as though the plant would not be able to digest all of it. Am I wrong. I guess I'm thinking too much about it. Seems as though I might do better feeding one time and then the next with just water and leaving the nutes out of ever other watering. Have you ever tried that?

When flushing let it flow. My personal regiment in flower 3 days nutes 1day flush 1 day dry repeat through out flower. Week 8-1/2 flush 5 days. Depending on conditions I will let dry days until chop.
