Everclear(moonshine is even better) , soak for month or 2. Leaving cap off bottle/ container to naturally evaporate. Then double boiler to “cook off” low low low heat. Left with a very thick paste like oil. Re wet with more alcohol to get proper viscosity. Syringe up. Easiest oil to make without decarb.
You can decarb and do a faster rso same method but in days. Soak after decarb for about a day, then squeeze out all to the goodness, and double boil off. Makes a darker oil. I prefer the longer cycle as it makes a clear almost honey like oil. I keep adding new alcohol as level drops off over time. Trick is low heat, 90-95 dg when double boiling off the alcohol. High heat equals a dark tar like oil. Low heat reduces the chlorophyll color and taste.

Looking for a new recipe for making RSO oil. Who’s got what? Share here, I got a ton of trim to process.
Me to,a bag full of trim and small buds.First I was baking the dry stuff, than I was heating the alcohol after strain....,now i'm trying freezing the new one...….?!!?:DThe one that I freez is not decarbed, just trim in a jar....Can I heat it after it is done to decerb it?Should I before mixing it with some oil?I want to do an experiment with mole, how it reacts during lubrication. But I will mix the RSO with canna seed oil, which has its own health benefits(really good for skin anyway) and it is also product from the same species.I have a question. In that size of bottle(on the first pic)full of canna seed oil what amount of the RSO would you mix in?20%may be?Less or more?:)

I've heard a lot about the healing qualities of RSO over the last few years. Does the way it's extracted actually improve these benefits or is it just a good way to extract every last bit of goodness from the shake? If I were to do rosin extraction from dry ice hash and use that as a base for an oil, would it have less beneficial qualities than RSO? Figuring this question is ok here considering Diesel is asking about alternative extraction techniques.

I guess it would have the same or even better beneficial qualities if it is made from hash...or may be it will be cleaner at least. But i'm sure all extracts have their medical potential.
Mine is dark,brown- green again, looks like alcohol always dissolves chlorophyll and other stuff....:) I will try to strain it faster next time after freezing, now I left it about a day.If I freeze everything-the alcohol in the fridge, the trim and the jar how long should I leave the mix before I strain to get oil, as clean as possible, but without just wasting the material?I'm afraid if I leave it too short it wont dissolve all of it?What do you preffer or which way is better-to heat it or freeze it eventually?

Thank you for your response.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to "one up" the process because I have a rosin press to use and blah blah blah... purity nonsense. I've been using herbal tinctures and compounds for nearly 40yrs (since before I knew how to talk, treated by my mom for serious health problems when I was a child). I know that the efficacy of many herbs will be better or stabilised for longer periods when extracted using alcohol. So purity aside, because anyone in the know, knows rosin is beautifully pure. I was wondering if I should set some of my good bud shake aside for RSO or if it's better just to hash it all and recover as rosin as needed.

I think you can hash it all and than try to add it in different substances and oils like the RSO.It should work like RSO,pretty much the same medicine(but these are my thoughts and i'm not really familiar with extracting so pls correct me when i'm wrong). There is differences I suppose, but generally....extracted trichomes and cannabinoids from MJ......Aren't they all that?Pure will be better,i guess mine is with all the junk dissolved in it AGAIN(but it is bio at least),well whatever......:)
And that's the cold pressed hemp seed oil, spanish this time.I read that it should be used as quick as possible , stored in fridge and not heated(like the cold pressed olive oil)that's why i'm making small amounts of RSO +seed oil so I don't have to open the hole bottle many times. It could loose some of its benefits when it is exposed to O2.Of course you can use other oils to.I just cant use the RSO clean, especially when I have to eat it.Applying on skin is also easier when it is mixed with something else. Before that I was just adding the baked trim directly in that oil, and leave it few days, shake it from time to time and than strain it.But now i'm going to to add the RSO,it should be more concentrated that way.

Distillate is the way to go imo rso is kinda nasty
Agree rso method of old was the stop gap before technology caught up to make indigestible oil.
Now with co2 and or press methods the oils are much better.
I take full crude extraction oil for rso type use. You do need the full method to extract all the other minor compounds that are beneficial, wax’s, etc.
