I have a mildew smell in my tent today, just started week 4 of flower. Plants look amazing. I can’t figure out where the smell is coming from. Any ideas on what I should do? I have neem oil but don’t know if I should spray them or not this late in flower. HELP PLEASE!!!

take all plants out of tent, use bleach and clean shit out of every thing including the light,if you have a air compressor blow out your filter, clean like your doing surgery, smell the bottom of you pots there were it will be if you cant see any on plant or outside,if the bottom of pots dont smell look behind the tent as in the wall and floor, most tent come with a drip floor ,mine did, designed to keep water from soaking on the bottom of tent and your floor,ro is important, with lights out a little condensation could and does roll right down the walls of your tent if you live in area with lots of humidity, humidifer can control this but as we all know when it rains and gets cold as shit in your house the ac doesnt always know that, great example is 100 outside, hot inside take a water hose water your roof and see how quick the temp changes inside the house, you would be amazed

Don't spray...
More airflow through your tent. That musty smell usually comes with high humidity. Are you running the D Huey at night?

My dehu is on all day fighting the humidity I got it hosed out to a tray outside tent I vacuum up everyday. Each plant has its own over flow tray which I think run off has got under them and became stagnant. I just removed my trellis and I’m about to clean the whole tent. Will the plants be ok out of light for a hour out should I do it right before I put lights out? I really appreciate this help.

It looks like you are using those cheap plastic trays under your pots, the ones that fit pretty snug on the bottom? I got mine at Lowe's, and they look identical, I had to stop using them, because I was having the same issue with the runoff getting stagnant. I assume this is due to how snug the fit; the airflow doesn't seem to penetrate underneath as well. I ended up not using them at all, but I don't have a tent, I have good airflow and plastic flooring and all of my runoff evaporates fairly quickly.

The smell is definitely coming from bud site on one plant the one that had least amount of air flow but I looked at it under the 60x and only see trichomes no PM. Do u think I should kill it or just hop for the best?

Honestly, I can't give you any advice on that front without standing in your room. Check the buds for botrytis(sp?) or aka bud rot. It will be inside of bigger buds, if you find it, cut the affected parts out, clean your tent, and increase your airflow if needed, but I cant tell you whether to kill your plant or not, that decision is ultimately yours and yours alone. You put in the effort and the time and money, its gotta be your call.

Give a gentle tug on all the small bud leaves on the stinky bud. If any of them pull out easily you could have a problem.

Some strains just have bad breath too.

if they are in there light stage ,the room lights will be good enough to get it cleaned, ditch those trays, get some you can use a shop vac to vacum out your runoff, dont ever leave runofff in your trays never, after you feed withing 30 min it will suck it right back up,if you choice to do that,i dont, runoff is salts coming from your medium and i dont want it back in there,so it all up to you now, just my opinion,i will say this leaving them in runoff sooner than later gonna give you salt build up,and soil ,soiless, coco whatever you use it will come, plants look great buy the way, floor looks like shit, bigger and better trays are in order, some things you can go cheap some you cant this is one of them

They don’t come off. the tip of leaf will break when pulled. I pulled quite a few off and they all just broke in half

Why bleach Inless you want the job done ASAP ( which is not a bad idea ), but for the future you can definitely use something that’s not only more efficient on more things but more safer for a grow room and you!

Suggestion, Look into physan 20

clean your area, tools, everything you have contact with during with during growing with h202 at 3-5% ( I use concentration and Dilute it down to proper %, wait 15 minutes )than I spray it with physan 20. Inless your growing on the surface that’s being sprayed, use the mold physan 20 rate and don’t remove it ever for protection . It’s way better than bleach and safer .

On any of your hydro, reservoir or pots or anything that will have beneficial (don’t wanna kill em) or plants/roots in there , use the manufacture suggestion rate for that and then rinse it off after 15 minutes .
