Hi everyone, very new to the forum but i've been lurking for a while, getting ideas on how to do everything with my grow!

I hope this is the right place to ask this and i'm also posting this across a few different boards to try and get everyones feedback/ideas.

Now what it is, as you may guess from the title, Plastic micro grow room boxes, with my grow i made my box out of wood and everything works good...which got me thinking about making it all better and lead me to plastic boxes. Through certain contacts i would be able to get boxes made up out of plastic which would be heat resistant, light weight, white on the inside and black on the outside. As i am fully aware you are able to buy grow tents which would do the job but would stand out a bit in the way of stealth...

So the question i have, if i was to get plastic grow boxes made, would anyone be interested in them? If so what sizes would people more want I.e something small to hide or more "closet" size? and then finally what prices would you pay? the idea will be to offer them as cheap as possible.

Of course if this all went ahead i would be offering you all a discount!

If anyone reads this and leaves any feedback..then thankyou very much!

(i'll get my wooden grow box journal up soon!)

Hmm its an interesting idea. I personally have no use for them but others might.

You might run into thing like:

price.. Lots of people just build thier own from rubbermaid type things. I doubt when you include shipping and everything else it'll be worth it to most.

Building a reputation/name. Are people going to be confident with your craftsmanship..

I personally use a double stacked Rubbermaid box to quarantine mite infested clones, or PM clones. I really just like to have it there whenever i need it.

I thought building the thing was the best part of the whole project.

You know hittin the drawing board coming up with a basic design. Then goin down to homedepot and spending a ton of time figuring the whole thing out. Only to find out you gotta go back cause you forgot something but you gotta go quick cause theyre about to close. So you smash over there. Then finally by midnight you got pics up for everyone to enjoy! haha those were my micro days

I think that most would agree with me. They'd rather build their own.

I know exactly what you mean, it was like that with my grow box that i made, all done out of mdf, back and forth to the diy store, then had to go back as they cut the panels wrong etc...it is all fun :) Obviously the plastic boxes was just an idea, i see the grow tents for sale and they're like £100+ and then i look at what i spent on my build and it got me thinking about getting it redone in plastic (white inside ofcourse) and offering it as a flat pack or something so people can still build it up

But its all just an idea :) wanted to get peoples feedback and reactions to see if there was any call for it :)

Cheers for the reply! i'll get the build pics up of my grow

I work with plastic a lot. You should make one and run it. I think you will find plastic retains latent heat for a while. You would probably need to run close to 6000 btu/1000w on your cooling designs which would make it muck more cheaper to run a tent. But good luck I love new ideas. JK

Hey Jalisco Kid, I'll keep that in mind :)

With my grow box ideas i have had a slight change to the idea due to the changes im looking at doing with my wooden box. Currently i was doing a soil grow but as my plants have all turned out to be males its time for my second grow attempt, which has led me to trying something new, Deep Water Cultivation (DWC). As i am wanting to use the box i made i'm trying to find a decent size tub/box that will go inside my box but nothing seems to fit so i'm going to get one made up to slot in. This is where it leads to my updated idea.... DWC Grow boxes, Various sizes, Bottom 3rd (roughly) would be a water proof/leak proof container, top part would then be the standard grow box part that would open up so you can get to the plants...

Has anyone got any views on this? :)
