Thanks for all of the feedback. It seemed like people were successful trimming and others not trimming leaf tips, which these responses have seemed to confirm. I think next attempt I will do variations and take some detailed notes, maybe make a thread.

And use a small amount of nutrients like 100-200ppm. Tap should be fine at 150ppm. After 10 days you prob need to add a small amount 50-100 ppm to the tap for nitrogen

I'll swap the res with tap tomorrow and do a light feeding while they finish up over the next few days. I am also keeping a journal of this, it is my first grow if that wasn't already apparent. Any and all feedback welcome, thanks!

You are correct, and here's the study:

The full write-up is worth reading, but here's the high-altitude summary:

- It doesn’t matter from where on the mother you take the cutting
- Leave 3-4 leaves
- Don’t cut the leaves
- Use 0.2% IBA gel
- Use a humidity dome for the first 5 days

I'm sure there is much disagreement, but I'll take science any day.
Thank You for finding that article. Now lets see what the Doctor has to say.

So I have to take your word for it then? 😉😜 if theres no difference either way... Why deliberately complicate the answer?
Because you did not have all the facts correct Doctor. Do you carry malpractice insurance?

Cutting leaves is mostly for packing domes full with bigger cuts. Has nothing to really do with rooting. More of controlling loss from wilt or disease and to keep airflow up and enviro even. After about 21-28 cuts in a 10x20 I would be chopping them...but in reality I would just use another dome and not cut them. At ever cut you are introducing a vector for potential problems.

Yeah fuck . . .

I gotta get some spring water or something..

T off before the softener.

I am mixing up the water change right now. I have a 5 gallon with tap water that was at 95ppm, mixed in 2 ml of GH micro for a total of 125ppm. Should I add the gro and bloom as well, or wait until they hit the buckets for a full feeding? @Aqua Man

FYI: I am using the GH trio with Si, Calmag, and hydroguard for the rest of the grow.

Hold off the silica for now IMO. Add 2ml of each grow, micro, bloom to 5 gal and should be good

No hose bib before the softner. Older houses 1960's usually have a hose bib for it comes into the home for what it is worth.

Yeah i knoez problem is the tank location and shit I'd have to crawl under the house to install the T then run new pex up thru the brand new insulation and subfloor i installed earlier this year, ooo also thru the floor levling compound i also laid in the bathroom, up to the sink where i'd have to install some kinda custom spout to gimmie water!

fuck now i wanna do it :\

Nope this is a manufactured home built in like 1997? Just one huge black hose running in the crawl space right to the pressure tank.

Right, I'm informing you again. I'm not engaging in this. I posted to help the POSTER and the advice I gave him/her was sound. No one has all the facts, ever. Except it seems for a few members in here... No sources though.

I would love to get into just how much you all know about everything and anything but seriously. Get a life. I have things to do. If I wanted to bicker on social media I would have joined Facebook.
