Thoughts on stealth/closet grows, first-time grower, plausibility?

I am not looking to accomplish anything crazy -1 small plant of potent bud will do me just fine (hopefully not reggie- don’t want to have to smoke a ton to get high but luckily I’m on a long tolerance break for the time being, and am thinking about growing to suffice my future needs- I won’t be smoking until the product is finished) . My biggest worry is the smell. Some people claim to get by with stealth grows but others say its impossible.
I’m planning on converting my closet space for my grow room needs- and am leaning towards building a wooden box (mylar/+ plastic interior lining) to house the plant/lights and whatnot. Also leaning towards Northern Lights because people seem to think its pretty easy/straightforward for new growers, smaller grow areas, and less intense odor(?). Its unfortunate the closet doesn’t have a window for extra ventilation so I’m also worried about airflow, but maybe it wont be a huge deal since I’m only dealing with 1 plant. The box would likely vent into the closet space(with carbon filter and accompanied air purifier/ona gel perhaps in the closet space itself) - because I had hopes to keep the closet door shut most of the time to keep in wandering smells (and heat as winter continues to roll in) . I also would really prefer it if my room didnt stink - I havent had issues with weed and other paraphernalia in the closet before - but largely because the weed (even if dank) doesn’t smell until I pull it out of its container and the smell of the bong doesnt travel far past the closet door(after being used- when using it I always snap small bowls from the bong right next to the window+a fan directing air outside).

Strain - Northern Lights (feminized seed)
("The Northern Lights strain has a classic skunky smell and taste when smoked, but during the flowering cycle, it’s one of the least pungent strains around." one example I've seen on this strain about smell - but a handful of other sources say it is relatively mild- so please if you have any experience with this strain I'd love to hear from you(or another straing you've found to be relatively low odor))

ANY thoughts on the above ideas/stealth in general are welcome - I’m not an expert so any advice on making this grow actually successful (and not smelly uwu) would be great.

Further reasons for stealth: Living alone isn’t an option for me in the foreseeable future - and I don’t really have patience for peoples’ judgements on me just waiting for that to happen- I won’t get kicked out if I’m figured out or anything- and have gotten away with keeping ounces/my 13inch bong (and a variety of equipment, dab rigs, etc) because I keep it all relatively hidden and try to stay discreet with smell (I guess if it makes anyone feel better- I live with a parent who literally gifts/buys me weed occasionally but I really try to be extremely discreet and the number of times I’ve been smelt/‘caught’ over the past 7 years is only 1-3 times lol, smoking indoors regularly (honestly smoking in my college dorm helped for the practice- and my dorm (unlike my bedroom) didnt even have a window)). Basically the parent never comes up stairs (maybe once or twice a year lol) - and a cleaning crew comes once a month to vacuum and wipe down the bathroom (so they never enter my bedroom where said closet/grow area will be- which is also where I tend to keep the bongs/weed etc). Also - am well into my 20s , so , no worries about being underage or anything - more just chronically ill lol #backfracture probs.

If you put a sufficient exaust fan in the window, the negative pressure will prevent any air/smell escaping your room. A good carbon filter will leave only a faint smell with the doors shut. My advice is get a tent that fits the closet, way easier than building and the duct openings are there already etc.

Stealth is totally possible. I have 3 tents in my 8x10 room and a roommate who has no idea I'm growing. Trust me, if she did I would know. I can show you pics of what I mean.

Suggest waiting till you’ve got your own space...or just purchase from the dispensaries till then.

I love how everyone thinks they'll just get Northern Lights because the descriptions say it don't stink in flower. They forget to tell you it stinks to high heaven in veg...and only one out of ten phenotypes has that "no smell" characteristic.

I grew NL for ten years. (BCSeedKing version) Man I stank up the whole neighborhood. And that was before it was legal. Weed plants stink. Some stink more in veg than in flower. Prepare for a constant fight. I have carbon filter running 24/7 and the air from both rooms being pumped out my chimney. My mother in law still says she smells it every time she's over. (Old biatch...) I kid.

Won't be living alone for the foreseeable future - don't have dispensaries at my disposal - also dont have the money to be buying it, have some extra cash I can drop on a grow set up - and seeds if I choose to do it again - but my income situation is not conducive to buying weed at the moment, unfortunately.

- WELP. So have u had any strains that didn't stink??? Yah I read that in veg a lot of plants don't smell a ton ,but this information is good to note. How many plants were you growing at the time? I plan on just having 1 (now leaning towards a tent within the closet, and getting a carbon filter set up, but it wont be venting outdoors, though my bedroom window will divert some scent- I also don't want my room to be rank ).

- would love to see pics of the setup! What strains are you growing? And have you found any that haven't been as smelly as others you've tried?

Air purifiers are a great way to keep smells down, they have carbon filters in them and work great, i use one and very happy with it.

I'm growing White Widow atm, 25 days into flower and I'm not getting any strong smell it yet..

As long as you have good air flow and can control the room temps you'll have a great time with a closet grow.
Closets are great for muffling sound and for cloning also.

But yeah put an air purifier in your room, well worth it.

Tell them you need to do it. Set up a tent. Charcoal. Vent. If they worry explain tents and LED lights. It's not 1997. We don't destroy houses to grow some weed.
