Fellow cannabis lovers,

Question here. I'm finishing up my second grow and cut off a bit on the earlier side (8 weeks flower but the plant prob needs 9). It's been drying for a week now and just smell strait up like grass/hay. I've read this happens when you dry too fast, but I didn't think my humidity was that bad. This happened on my first grow (eventually improved w/ curing) but I was hoping to avoid this time. I have a humidifier in the dry room and have it drying on a hanging rack. Humidity has been fluctuating between high 40s and low 50s and temps are low 60s. Is the air still too dry / drying to fast this way? or are there other causes that would make my glorious weed smell like grass that I should be looking out for? I want to try to correct this before I go and harvest the whole thing sometime in the next few days/week. Should i try to bump the humidity to mid 50s?? help!

Thanks (in advance)

If it’s dried a week without being so dry that the stems snap when bent, you should be good.
I like my humidity at 60%, same with the temperature 60f but as long as it’s above 50f I haven’t noticed any problem. You should definitely bump the humidity up to around 60. If the buds feel dry when you squeeze them it’s time for a cure jar which will help the moisture in the bud the migrate throughout and rehydrating itself, if it’s not too late.

Put it in a jar and put a humidifier in the jar with it and leave it for at least 4 hours to find out what the actual humidity is

ok thanks a ton i'll try bumping the humidity up in the room. I didn't leave a ton of leaf on there either so maybe i'll leave a little more this time around to let it dry out a little slower too. Good thing that first cut was a test run. It still works - I just smoked a solid bowl and am about to sit down with the rest of the plant while watching indiana jones and the last crusade (who doesn't love a solid feel-good film during flu?)
