Hi guys,
Just a question regarding organics.
I started my second ever grow from seed just over a month ago. I started in 1l pots and let the seedlings roots fill the pot before transplanted straight into 7gallon / 30l fabric pots in canna terra pro which im aware is already charged and will take you through the first 5 weeks of growth without having to feed. however, i also decided to premix dry amendments to each pot as id read that organic dry amendments can take up to 4 weeks to actually be usable for the plant. So i figured by adding it before transplanting, by the time the 4 / 5 week came, the canna terra pro nutrients would have been used and now the amendments i added will start to be used by the plant. for the first week or so i watered very carefully, knowing that the new seedlings root zone wouldnt be developed enough to use up all the water in a 7gallon fabric pot, so watered bit by bit until the plants got bigger and more established.
Its been about 3 weeks since then and the plants are getting bigger and I've now started watering right through, watering approximately 2 gallons water through each fabric pot ( 7gallons ) and that seems to be perfect, leaving me with about 10 % run off which the plants drink up within 30mins / 1 hour after watering anyway. When watering i firstly neutralise the tap water by using an organic pure vitamin c product called ecothrive neutralise, which instantly removed chlorine and chloramine from tap water. i fill up a 5 gallon bucket and mix 1 tbsp molasses, 1/2 tbsp epsom salts and i ph with bio bizz organic ph down to a ph of 6.5.

Ive noticed what i believe to be nutrient burn on the tips of some of my leaves on the new growth and was wondering if any of you organic experts could give me some advice please. Do you think it could be any of the amendments i added that are having a bad effect on my plants and if so will my plant grow out of it ? Im still in veg but want to flip to flower after 1 more week.

The dry amendments used and mixed into the canna terra pro 7 gallon pots were as follows......

60ml bat guano ( guanokalong ) 1.10.1
60ml seaweed powder ( guanokalong ) 1.0.1
60ml ecothrive charge ( insect frass ) 3.2.3
Lavaworm volcanic rock ( guanokalong ) no npk.

light used is a lumatek zeus pro 600w led.
ive got it hanging at 50cm from canopy at 50% power. I keep the temps at roughly 25 / 26•c and rh at approx 65 / 70% rh in veg. Although you’ll notice my temps dropped to 21.5•c in the pic as im based in uk and had a really cold day today.

ive attached pictures and any feedback would be very much appreciated thanks guys

thanks for getting back to me mate.
They seem to be getting worse and the stems are becoming weak, limp and purple. Leaves curling with brown / bronze spots at bottom of plant which are dark green.
Someone suggested loading up some bat guano for P and turning the light up from 50% to 100%

What soil?

IMO you dont want to water to runoff with organics amendments but rather keep the soil between 30-60% moisture content. IF THIS IS SOIL.

Idk if you need nutes yet if using amendments but if you do I would feed light with a feed feed water.

Looks to me like they may be a touch over watered and a touch to much light.

You can get in the ballpark with light meter by my mobile tools dev.

30-45k lux for 18/6
40-65k lux for 12/12

The plants will tolerate more light if they are dialed in but if not you may need to keep near the middle or lower end until you get them firing on all cylinders.

And as was said humidity 50-60% is likely plenty

I'm not an organic grower so just my opinion

well start with low stress fixes first, adjust the humidity to 50. temp. 75 ish. give them a couple days, watch for new changes?
might be over watering.
i agree with @Aqua Man

I used canna terra pro which is already pre charged and will take you through the first 4 weeks so i gathered by adding some amendments aswell, by the time the canna terra nutrients deplete, the amendments would activate as ive read that it can take up to 3 / 4 weeks for dry amendments to become available.

im in 7 gallon fabric pots and i find i need to water nearly 2 gallons in each pot and that only gives me abit of run off. I like to do the dry / wet cycle for my watering schedule which usually means i dont water for just over a week or more at a time. I water with 1 tbsp molasses and 1/4 tbsp epsom salts so they’re getting calcium and magnesium. I ph to 6.5 using bio bizz organic ph down in a 5 gallon bucket.

im thinking maybe its phosphorus toxcicity where i pre loaded bat guano 1.10.1 3 weeks ago and maybe its kicking in now and has knocked ph off in soil maybe ? Or maybe the plants are starving from over watering as you stated.
do hungry plants show signs that are immobile or mobile ?

in terms of my light its a top of the range lumatek zeus pro 600w and currently had it running on 50% power as manufacturer states. Someone tood me to wack it up to 100% but surely that will do the plant much worse.

so many different things to consider and worry about, its making my head spin.

Thanks for feedback, i will try adjusting the temp and rh and maybe only give 1 gallon of water in each 7gallon pot. The problem then is that i run the risk of leaving dry spotsin the soil if 1 gallon doesnt soak it all.

Not if you don't let it get bone dry. Can always poke some holes and good idea to scratch up the surface every so often. Its a balancing act. Pour some in and wait, no run off add a bit more and when you see it start to get a touch of runoff then stop. This is ideally but if you feel more confident with runoff and going drier thats no issue either. Many ways that work

thanks for feedback my friend.
Theres generally only about 5 / 10% run off that gathers in the tray each time and the plants seem to drink the run off within 30mins anyway.

also, the soil is always bone dry by the time i water again. I lift the pots and they’re as light as a feather. The biggest problem when water in fabric pots is no matter how slow you water them, the water always seems to drip down the sides of the pot.
would you recommend leaving them for another week, whilst taking your rh and temp recommendations into account and when the next watering is due i could make a compost tea just with worm castings, 1tbsp molasses and 1/4 tbsp epsom salts in a 5 gallon bucket aerated for 24 hours ? I could also maybe top dress with some all purpose ecothrive ( insect frass ) with a npk of 3.2.3 and maybe only sprinkle about 30ml for 7 gallon pot or should i feed more ? Sorry for all the questions its just so stressful.

No worries. Just relax and give them time to respond. More plants die to love than neglect.

I'm not sure about organics in terms of nutrients but you can try poking some holes in the soil to get the water to flow through the soil a bit more evenly.

Basically make those changes and give it a week to respond.... do t do to much to fast or its likely to make things worse.

thabks for the feedback brother and hope you had a good xmas 👍🏼
im going to give them a breather and leave them alone for a few days. Poke a few holes in the soil and just leave them to almost dry and i’ll go from there. I have noticed that the new growth of the stems today are looking green and not purple so hopefully it was just where i let them dry out too much and maybe caused abit of nute burn.
growing ganja is more stressful than putting up with a woman 🤣

Hi light can do that. Are the lower stem more shaded green?

yes the lower stems that are shaded are green but have streak of a purple line running through. Then the stem between the new growth today and from yesterday is quite purple. I usually find the fan leaves end up with a purple stem but thats never an issue. It just seems to be when the main stem is purple it gives problems

its usually towards the end of veg which is where im at now. But because of this issue i dont want to flip yet just incase i hermie the plant and get a crap yield. The problem now is that the plants are going to stretch in flower and im running out of height too lol one thing after the other.

so say its after 4 / 5 weeks and then i start seeing the purple in the stems
