So the bong i got for Christmas literally broke before i even got to use it, it was a really nice 20” straight tube bong that i absolutely fell in love with and picked up at the shop with my mother a few months ago, so Ive been looking forward to using it for a long time now. And then of course, the day has finally come to open it up and use it for the first time... and it breaks...

Usually when glass breaks on me ill just go out and replace it. But i really really don't want to do that in this situation. This was a really special gift from my mother that costed over $350 and I was absolutely in love with this piece. So theres no way I'm replacing it if theres a chance it can be repaired, even if said repair costs more than the piece itself.

Really the only things that need to happen is the base needs to be reconnected to the mouthpiece, and it needs a new joint since that broke clean off. Both breaks were clean with barely any chips/cracks, so I would imagine it would be possible to repair. But I'm not quite sure since the piece is pretty tall n thick, and the mouthpiece broke right where the perc is, so the top part of my perc is attached to the mouthpiece while the rest is attached to the base. So in other words my perc is broke in half too.

With all that out of the way, i just want to know in your guy’s opinion if you think this bong is possible to repair, or if i should just pay my respects and move on. And like I said earlier, it doesn't matter to me if the cost of the repair is more than the piece itself, i would literally pay anything just to have this piece back

Rip! I wouldn’t use it, glass particles scare me.

I agree that this is one ex-bong that has joined its ancestors, and should not be used again despite its sentimental value. Inhaling even the tiniest sliver of broken glass would be disastrous. That thing coast a fortune for sure. $350 is serious money for a breakable item. My tree percolator ice bog cost all of $50, and has lasted a good while despite being all glass. If it breaks, no biggie, I'll just order another cheapo Chinese bong to replace it.

Shoot clean it with alcohol and water to remove any glass shards and try some clear gorilla glue couldn’t hurt to try. I glued one back together with JB Weld once worked well but it wasn’t a bong like this just a bubbler pipe! That was yrs ago before all this fancy new glue going around 😂 Good luck!

That puts an interesting twist on this whole saga. Sounds like the OP got lucky it wasn’t his arms and legs that got broke.

Ha ha wait a minute, I can't be broke. There are still more unused checks in my booklet. On a serious note, I recycle my underwear and have never binned a single pair of "Y" fronts for over a decade, I am proud to announce. I notice that they don't fade as quickly, if they are never washed. Sorry for the digression. Normal service can now resume.

Nah I always just have really bad luck on Christmas, like last Christmas i got a new grow light and it fell on 2 of my plants and killed them, and then the year before that i got into a car wreck. Christmas is like Friday the 13th for me man somethings bads always got to go down.

Plus, on the night we went to that field, I didn't really think about footwear and for some reason decided to wear my brand new pair of shoes. And when we were grabbing all the goods and sprinting out, one of the shoes slipped off my foot and pretty much just disappeared into the cornfield we were running thru to get back to the car, we sat there for a whole 2 minutes searching for it (which is a pretty long time when your somewhere your not supposed to be) but it was a goner.

So I think karma already got me back for that one lol

I apologize to the mods for this... But you're a real piece of shit you know that right? I hope all your bongs break, your plants die and you stub your toe today. What kind of a fucking loser comes to a pot forum and brags about being a ripper.

This asshole should be booted from the forum.

Not bragging bro, just talking about the mistakes I've made in the past. Im not proud of it, and I regret it and wouldn't do it again. I just like to talk about these things so people know where I'm coming from

But thanks for the input! And have a happy new year!

Was pretty clear in the other thread Beachwalker quoted that this happened pretty recently, like september... and you sure sounded like you were bragging about it.

If you worked your ass off only to have some piece of shit steal the fruits of your labor, youd be angry as hell too. Ive had so much stuff stolen from me i have no sympathy for your broken bong or your stolen weed that smells like hay.

walking underneath a ladder, and near a black cat. anyway, i'm impressed how you're taking it, i would be 'shattered'.

put it back together, show it to your mom - then use another cheaper bong. sorry, but i would maybe glue it together and use it as a flower vase.

i'm gonna roll a joint, next session, knock on wood.

Holy Moly ! I didn't bother to read the entire rambling story, where the OP owned up to being a weed crop thief. No wonder someone mentioned karma right away ha ha. Anyway, this topic now takes on a more ridiculous tone than I previously surmised. Confessing to being a weed ripper in a weed growers forum, makes about as much sense as looking for insider burglary tips in a forum operated by the Sheriffs Department ha ha. As a grower who had his entire crop burnt down deliberately last year, I hate rippers and arsonists with a passion.

Happy New Year y'all. If you are able to read these best wishes, it is safe to assume that you have survived 2020 without a scratch, and that is a good start to 2021. Stay safe, mask up and keep distance, until weeks after you get that shot in the arm, and then hey, let the good times roll.
