Hello, and thank u all in advance for your input. I’m in the second week of a new grow, and want to know a little more about the possibility of needing to add CalMag into both Veg and Bloom cycles. I lost my previous crop, due to ph issues and not using the Canna A+B buffer mixture.
I did my homework this time around. I have kept my ph levels in the optimal range of 5.4-6.0. As well as limited the amount of nutrients, i.e. using all canna nutrients and cut the recommended dosage in half.
Also, in previous grows using regular soil, water run off wasn’t as big of an issue, can anyone please touch on the importance of water run off and how much u should have after every feeding. (Using 50 Liter black buckets under brand new Growers Choice LED’s.).
Room temp is in the 82/84 range, the plants look healthy and I am happy thus far. I am just looking to make sure I don’t run into any other issues along the way. Thanks again for your valued information.

Any reason you are not using any perlite?
Everything that I read before hand, suggested that the coco base didn’t need the support of the perlite. So I haven’t ever mixed in any. I have lately seen other news suggesting I should use.

feed everyday, ph to 5.8, you should be good to start at 300ppm. Pick up the pots and see how wet they are from bottom.

Perlite helps with aeration along with the coco for root development but can add more watering because of aeration, As well with the under and over water feeding but. But by the looks you got your stuff down and it looks nice you got your schedule rock it

I tagged a friend.i dont reckon you will b able to water frequently because of no added perlite to help it drain.would have to treat like a soil grow..
Ok, thanks a lot much appreciated.

How large are those containers?

FYI, I grow in 2gal fabric pots, 4-6 week veg, 100% coco, no perlite and in peak flower I'm watering 4-6 times per day.

I don't see an irrigation setup... with that said you're better off not mixing perlite if you're in small containers and hand watering. Focus on establishing good solid root ball in those pots and make sure you water every day with a little runoff. Don't take advise to treat your coco like soil. The only time I allow a long dryback in coco in after a transplant.

I’m pretty sure the bucked are 5 gal black buckets. Definitely just hand watering. Ok, thanks for the advise. Much appreciated

Thats what i expected as was thinking its going to retain more water instead of running out..
So oppologese for that..im keen to know how much you are watering bro each fertigation with runooff and how close your ppm runoff readings are to whats going in...
