If ya peek around you will see with burners you need to vent. Also nee data is showing its a common cause of failure for contam testing.

I'm not against burners because I use bottled co2.... I have just seen more than a few times the issues they can cause and with the new info out on testing it's not something I would recommend unless your in a large space and vent well periodically and also inspect your burners very often.

Plenty of threads and info out here on ethylene poisoning. Many take a long time to realize the issue so I figured giving you a heads up on what to look for if you ha e issues may save you some time and money should you have issues.

Agreed, but venting is a no no here. I do have a ppm controller. So can keep right on the even money during daylight. Not many people do that, just use a timer, that seems much much more dangerous....as I see it....

It's not the ppm that's the issue it's the ethylene

Now I am using propane. Not common gas. Much cleaner burn. Does that make a difference?

You can't AFAIK... maybe an ethylene sensor out there im not sure but venting is a must with burners imo.

Just do some searches here and on the web for ethylene poisoning cannabis. You will find a crap ton of info and accounts of it where it took ppl often times multiple grows to figure it out.

I don't think you can measure the level of ethylene in a grow room, well I've never heard of anyone measuring it. What you do is inspect your burner between runs, make sure the flames burn blue and there is no carbon buildup on your jets.

For me, I burn natural gas. I have an exhaust hooked up to a humidistat. When lights go out, it purges the room and brings in fresh air, probably only a few times during lights out. I don't vent during lights on. Having the exhuast hooked up to a humidistat kills 2 birds with one stone. Its main purpose is to take the pressure off the dehumidifier when the lights go out and humidity wants to spike.

Thank you for that input. I believe propane is the cleanest. Never any build up. Pure blue flame. No water from condensation within.
I have listened to everyone who came in my shop, an overwhelming consensus drives home, DONT VENT. Everyone of em. But this is Cali bro. Severe changes in atmospheric conditions is a CONSTANT. Dropping and rising. Like from 1005mb to 1035mb in a few hours. Live about 20 miles from monster mountains, steady slope right to my front door! Also right now temps go from 35f to 75f every day. That's 40 degrees in a day.

Will check it all out thank you...

Quick read on it... like I say endless accounts and info out there on it... small rooms I say bottled gas is the way to go.

Natural gas is cleaner than propane.... again if not venting I think you are putting your health and plants health at risk... but all I can do is give you the warning and the rest is up to you.

Venting is like a fail safe... I'm honestly don't know if it's required or not. There is a lot of information on the web that says venting is required and just as much information saying you don't need to vent in a sealed room if running a burner.

Like I said, I'm not certain. Venting the room for me is for humidity control during lights out but in the process acts as a fail safe if for anything ethylene builds up in my room because of a faulty burner. If you do run into ethylene issues then venting for sure is going to help. I think the argument from guys who says venting isn't required is if your burner is running perfectly fine, your checking it regularly to make sure that its combusting properly, then theres no reason to vent. I've also read articles that stat even if your burning if operating properly, its still good for the plants to bring in fresh air from time to time. Search... tons of info on the subject on these forums.

Never owned a burner but seen plenty of the issues with them... I kinda feel like the info saying you don't need to are outdated? I'm not sure. I have never really seen that no venting was suggested

Exactly, right! But I have to take these guys, over a 100% average of doing just that. Or YOU WILL GET DA BUGS!

But, keep in mind I go in and out though a full size door. It does seem to make a difference....hmmmm.

Is your product requiring testing?

With burners venting is needed periodically.. with bottled not so much. Plants don't take up co2 at lights out so the ppm really doesn't matter.

You may find a need to feed a bit more and definitely want to make sure you have enough light to take full advantage of it.

Higher temps and lower humidity are beneficial with co2 and I would border on saying necessary
Hey dude!
Check out my posts at "HALP! CMH lights...." Looks like I may have found a secret to CMH lights.....
