I’m noticing when I germinate my seeds they sprout, then Nothing happens after that. I am using rock wool. I am finding the the seeds turn to mush white inside when I investigate. Why are the seeds turning into mush white after they sprout?

I soak seed in distilled for 18hrs, transfer to papertowels for 2 days, place in presoaked 200ppm rock wool. . .from start to finish i hit first node in less than a week.

I had your issue, overwatered rock wool was what caused mine. Also make sure once it goes into rockwool ur getting 5k lux.

I also never top feed. . .

Yeah, sounds like they're rotting.

I'm a fan of soaking -> paper towels -> media, also. It seems to be one of the popular methods.

After you put it into rock wool, are you covering with a dome? Are you watering at al?

I don't use rock wool, but generally speaking, seedlings don't need a dome. Give them plenty of air circulation and remember the roots need oxygen just as much as they need water. If the media is wet, there's no oxygen.

When i place in hydro system the bottom of the rockwool is bairly touching the water. The rockwool will wick up the water. The bubbles under allows for the water to drop an inch before needing to top off my res.

I presoaked the cubes 200ppm for 1 or 2 days, while the seed is in the paper towel. Once i see a long tap root, like an inch lol, i place in rock wool leaving the seed almost on the surface. I push some extra rockwool down in the hole so that the there is no air inbeween the root and side wall. . and i put in hydro system that has 200ppm water in it.. 5k lux

many ways to germinate!
i soak mine in a hydrogen peroxide mix, 5-10% strength for 10-12 hrs, nearing 12 hrs i’ll soak peat pellets in same mix to expand and have a cup of promix with a hole about the size of half a golf ball, than i cut off the netting of pellet and place some peat in the hole, than carefully take glass with seed (pour into another glass) leaving some water with seed and pour onto the peat in cup and cover, seeds should all pop within 2/3 days latest..
hands never touch the seed or root this way and it’s been 100% so far..

I agree with the people saying they are rotting in the rockwool, lack of oxygen I think. It seems the media is too wet and when you push more rockwool on top of the seed its probably just drowning the seedlings. Try rapid rooters, but if you want to remain with rockwool, push the seed a 1/4 inch below the surface and don't cover the seedling. Also allow the cubes to dry out a lil, so don't keep them constantly wicking solution from the bottom, they will remain almost fully saturated if you do that. Good luck.

OK, now that I have corrected my problems. I had to you much less water with the rockwool. Light spray bottle is now what I use to mist the cubes and dome. This method is what i am doing now with good success.
