The other day I was discussing this topic and I had said that veg begins when your seedling reaches its eighth note well I got to thinking and I think some maybe confused on how to count nodes when you come from the base of the plant and work your way up you have a better Branch or leave that comes off to the right that's one node and then right on the other side of it there's another one that's two nodes and then you move up and then you have your next branch on the right that's node 3 next branch on the left node four catching my drift yet up to the next node branch on the right branch on the left it with six

Basically I think people are counting paired nodes as singular nodes. I think it's referred to as an axle at each axle there are two nodes what do you guys think?

I think you should start counting like corn or wheat. Sprout is ve, 1st node is v1, second node is v2, etc. Since you are so determined to make sure no one understands you that would be really cool. I'll just go with what everyone I know does. Veg starts at sprout. GL with your weed university thingy.

What is a plant node

plant anatomy
…the stem at intervals called nodes; the intervals on the stem between the nodes are called internodes. The number of leaves that appear at a node depends on the species of plant; one leaf per node is common, but two or or more leaves may grow at the nodes of…

I count veg once they get their first transplant.

When does veg begin?

Good question, I'm thinking veg starts when the first true set of leaves have completely developed and the 2nd set is just starting. Up until that time the cotyledons or seed leaves are providing sufficient food for the plant.
By the time the 2nd set of full leaves start to develop, the 1st set of true leaves are developed enough to provide the plant food via photosynthesis. This is when I put the plant into veg by starting feeding nutrients starting at 1/4 strength and working up to full strength in a 30 day timeframe.

ok? and?
in nature all seeds come with nutrients to start life and to grow enough of a root to start to feed on its own.. indoors in a soilless mix without nutrients the seedling will run out of the nutrients it came with and you can tell when that is by the two small cotyledon leaves are yellowing and dying off, which tells us it’s time for very very light feeding, if we didn’t feed than the yellowing would continue upward on the plant..

True. The plant starts cannibalizing the bottom to stay alive. We see this in corn when there's not enough rain.

I made clones and vegged 6 weeks. The final product was exactly the same as the babies. Same taste, smell, potency and structure as the14 day veg. Exact same just more of it.

you would have to veg the original seed plant to good maturity then cut clones to see any difference. And not everybody has the same tolerance to notice.

And I was just joking with all the “pre-terms”. Lol
