The good news is already out that VA will be the 16th state (first in the South) to legalize. We can expect full legalization, recreational dispensaries and the whole works by 2024. That's great, but I'm pretty sure there's a meeting going on in the General Assembly as I'm making this post to amend the current legislation to allow for legalization and home cultivation by July 2021! Not that I'm excited or paying close attention, but that's just 83 days and 11 hours away!
Our good Guv make the proposal last week and I believe they're voting on the amendment today. Given that Dems won the legislative trifecta again this time around the measure seems likely to pass, maybe with some bipartisan support as well. Hopefully I can report back here in a few hours or tomorrow to confirm the good news.
But yeah, hi there, and nice to meet you guys. Long time reader, new poster, etc. I'm planning to do an indoor-organic-soil-tent grow for my first foray into this venture. I've been in sponge mode trying to absorb as much info as I can and I bet I'm not to first say, damn, there is so much to learn. For those of you familiar with the Dunning-Kruger effect I am now firmly in the valley of despair. I'm a hobbyist at heart though, so realizing there's a lot to learn and that there will be failures ahead is only more motivating.
Keep your fingers crossed for your VA brothers and sisters.
Peace,
Schwer
