Hi
I'm new to growing under a full spectrum light. What is the best on/off ratio, for using the lights. Currently, I use 18 hrs on, 6 off. Is this a good ratio please?

All suggestions welcome.
Many Thanks

Thanks Mr.GreenThumbOG.
I did read somewhere you can keep them on a constant 24hr cycle, but I thought this would not give the plant to rest. I appreciate your help.

One thing I found with 18/6 and autos. Seedlings stretch fast. I’d recommend using 24 on for the first 7 days and leave yourself enough room in the pot to add medium. Once they are lanky enough to look like they need support add medium to shore up the stem. Then flip to 18/6 for the remainder of their life.

Hi freezland2.
One seed ( auto cheese), This particular plant has shot up to 70cm, in 3 weeks.
I don't want it to climb much higher as space is limited. I have my lamp on a pulley, so it's easy to adjust the height.
Is there anything I can do to slow it's growth. My other plant is budding nicely.
Cheers for your help.

3 weeks old now. Is it starting to flower yet? They will stretch when flowering. As far as keeping height down...have you started or are familiar with LST?

LST is low stress training. Bend and tie the top down. It will control height and cause new tops to form increasing your yield so in your case a win win. Careful not to snap it when you bend her over.

Hi
I did that with the first plant, using a pipe cleaner to bend the plant so the buds get more light.
At 70cm it's quite " Tall", im afraid it may snap. I can secure it @ a 180° angle, opposite the side I need to stunt, and bend.
Many Thanks pal.

I plan to run some autos this go at 6/2x3 IDK if it will do anything hence why im going to try it. :) I may even do some other break down if need be of light+rest vs one long period. May be based on temps mid summer.

I put my plants in the window, as soon as I get up. It's South facing, so gets loads of sunshine for at least 10 hours. Saves on the electric bill.
