Looking for an efficient and also not to expensive AC unit to put in my grow tent. Also just thinking about putting a window ac in the room. Not sure how efficient that will be though.

Agree with MiMed. Keep it all in the room, keep the room tight and cool. Don't dump stink air into your home AC.

Windows are alot more efficient since they keep the condenser outside which is where all the heat is. Ive got an 8k btu it works decent for my setup.

My room is like 144sq foot so that will probably work. How much do you think that unit added to your electric bill?

I love my Toshiba Portable A/C.... Works great and has all sorts of programmable features and built-in On/Off Timer

Window units are usually more efficient and less expensive than portable units, depending on brand.

For example, an LG 10k btu portable unit for $390 cools 250 sq. ft., an LG 10k btu window unit for $365 cools 450 sq. ft.

I got that info from Home Depot website.

Appreciate the photo. Looks good. My problem is I have more than one tent in one room. So window is looking like my best option.

You could easily use that to do multiple tents. The only downfall is the price of the unit. You can find them on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace though if you hunt around a bit. They are definitely better than the window units imo.

I just bought for my living room a Toshuba 12,000 btu unit for $480.00. My grow room with 2 tents soon, I have a 5,000 btu in the wall. Room temps stay around 75-78 degrees.

Imo it's best to adjust the temp and humidity of the room the tent is in... this means the air going in is already conditioned to your needs. If you try to control either in the tent you end up with uneven of either and in the case of a humidifier it usually sucked out before it does any good, dehuey will blow hot air on the plants, ac will blow cold air on the plant, heater will be hot close by and cool on the other side.

Only way to ensure even temp and humidity is to adjust the room the tent sits in and provide good air exchange... just my opinion.

Good one aqua. Thanks for input people.

I heard that in the colder regions of usa people use a small inline fan with a ducting on, to suck in cold air from outside and let the cold air fall from the top of the room...

Anyone doing this ?

Heard its most usual to have ac in the hot regions
I am thinking about seal the room and temp it with ac..dump the hot air out the window..

Also been thinking about passive air intake ducting from window to tent.

Its messy yea, so all advice is welcome.

When I had my 4x4 sealed I built a small lung room to allow the air to mix before going to the plants. Was sealed with co2. Had a partition with a fan that pulled air from the top to the lung area and passive flow back... worked well so I upgraded and did my 10x7 with the same equipment.

The old 4x4 with 2x4 lfor equipment and conditioning
