Hey guys new indoor grower here and I decided to add co2 even tho this is my first run. I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project and have researched so much and I feel I’m nailing this first grow so I said why not add co2 since I have everything else dialed in. I’ve received my tank and regulator but don’t have my controller/monitor yet. I’ve read up some on how to use the 1200 ppm co2 chart so I think I have it figured out but if anyone had any additional tips on using it just until I get my controller that would be great!! It’s been a tad confusing to me idk why but I haven’t had a lot of time to figure it out either. Do you use a co2 controller or do you use a monitor with a timer to get the results you want?

I would suggest to wait until you get your controller before wasting a bunch of CO2. It is really had to just open up the bottle and let it rip. I have done it when a tank is just about done and gotten numbers as high as 4000 PPM. I want to say titen makes a reasonably priced unit. But I am not a big fan of buying things again and again because I need to upgrade. I would suggest if you are serious about growing to take a look at investing into a controller that will control all aspects of your grow. For that I do like the Trolmaster. You get the basic unit and you add on accessories as you need them. Base unit comes with just Temperature and Humidity controller and you add modules to suit your needs.

Also take a look on you tube for a guy by the name of Bruce Bughee. I think that is the spelling. The video goes into PPDF and breaks down the Mols Cannabis can take. I believe he goes over C02 as well. If you do not have the lights to support CO2 there is really no need to use it. Lastly, titen also has tubing with laser drilled holes about every 6" that create a shower affect with the CO2 this is ideal because CO2 is heavy and will drop to the bottom of the grow area also try to increase air movement if you are on the low side.

Appreciate the info on some of the equipment but I already bought a controller it’s the Inkbird brand I have there humidity controller already but may upgrade in the future. I’m not concerned with wasting some I just need to get by for a few days and was seeing if anyone had any tips or tricks with using the chart. Each quantum board puts out 240 watts beside my middle light which I’ll be upgrading to another 240 watt kingbrite QB. I’ll also be running them even closer than I already was and I have good air movement. My one fan blows over the whole canopy and then I have one on the floor angled upwards and to one side on my grow space creating a circular air movement and the bottom fan blows the co2 back upwards and around it blows!!! I’m also venting on the lowest setting and sealed everything besides the bottom. The passive intake will slowly pull air in. Also the way my closet is set up I feel is perfect for co2. 8 foot ceiling and my ac infinity sits on a shelf that’s way up towards the top and the shelf also goes out about a foot. I feel this will keep co2 from easily being vented out and hopefully will only pull mostly regular air. My two flip fans aimed at my drivers also create a wall of air since it hits the quantum boards and spreads out in all directions. I’ve built this closet from the ground up and I feel the things I mentioned give my space an advantage over regular grow tents so only time will tell when I get the controller and can see how often it kicks on to keep my co2 levels up. Update of my grow will be in the next week or so where I’ll explain and show more about what I discussed here

Also I’ve seen some of his videos but I will go back and look for ones pertaining to this.

Any ventilation is going to burn your co2 fast brother... don't need to run it for lights out either.

The only ventilation needed is if using burners or lights out just to exchange the volume of the room once.

If you have that fan on low your tank is basically going to run constantly until it's empty especially in a small space.

Ya I’ll probably make some adjustments and hook up my exhaust to my Inkbird so it will kick on if the humidity rises to much. I don’t have a dehumidifier yet and it didn’t look like I was going to need one since my bedroom is the lung room and the house is air conditioned. So I’m curious to see how the humidity levels will be without the passive intake of fresh air. I’m getting off work now and going to tinker around and research more. My room is also not sealed at the bottom but I have panda film on the floor and it goes upward about 3 inches and then I have another peice that curtains over it so if it’s heavier than air it should stay in my grow space.(I will include pics if you are not following that part). On top of all the panda film that keeps my space light leak free I will have the sliding closet doors closed as well. Appreciate the tips Aqua!! 🙌

So what you can do in that case is seal off the vents in the room. Toss a deguey in the room, put in an AC in that room. Preferably window because they don't exchange air other than some leakage (or dual hose portable, the single won't work because they exchange air) this way you control the lung room co2 ppm... even though Isa bigger space it will make much better use of the co2 instead of filling up your house.

Tbh most basements are around 1000ppm of co2. So a grower can take advantage of that.

Vid is kinda long but I go over my grow space in some detail so take a look over and let me know what you think.

I like it very nice use of space... I worry a bit about the humidifier in there like that as it's going to direct contact the plants. But you prob won't need it for long if at all now. I'd set the Infinity to your RH you want. Make sure the senor is at canopy height for accuracy.

But in all honesty the gains you will see from co2added with the difficulty of adding it effectively imo are not going to be worth it.

Just an honest opinion. As those plants grow they are gonna be putting out a lot of water. You can pretty much count on 95% of the water they get going into the air and that means your air exchange is going to need to increase as they get bigger.

Unless you seal the room and supplement it all or the space which I can see because of AC and dehumidifier needed I think you just won't get the benefit that makes it worth it brother... sorry for the negative opinion but it's an honest one.

Hey man I want you all to be honest. Ya this is kinda unnecessary but I wanted to give it a go since I have everything else dialed in but now I do have to make all these adjustments to make it work when I had it dialed in already without co2. I won’t have much to base my results on as this is my first indoor grow but if I feel it’s more hassle then it’s worth then I’ll pull the plug on the co2 enrichment but for now I’m down for the challenge and I love tinkering around with my grow so I’ll see what works best for me as the time goes. I have a Bluetooth temp/humidity gauge so I’m experimenting as we speak and it’s looking like I don’t even really need the humidifier anymore and my temps are around 90 right now I’ll see if they climb anymore. So in your opinion you think I’ll Forsure need the dehumidifier as they get further into flower is that what your saying? I’m grateful for all the knowledgeable ppl here and want that constructive criticism/advice I can get! I’ll let you guys know how it all goes as more time passes.

Nope you won't need it unless you seal either the room or the grow space. They also through a lot of heat. So if sealing you will definitely need an AC also because enough then have heat from the lights and the dehuey. When running bottked or burner co2 it's generally a sealed room with fully environmental control. Period venting with burners and while not needed with bottled it's not a bad idea to vent once during the dark period. I don't vent at all and haven't had any issues but that's not to say it may not benefit as some growers say they experience a bit better growth. I can't say why that may be but I'm in and out of my room enough and it's fairly small that I don't see any issues.
