Has anyone had issues with calibrating ? Im wondering also how long does ph solutions stay good for seems? I just keep getting err code after doing ph 7 then ph4. Im soaking in ph4 for 24hrs until I get ny Kcl solution on wed. But like is it a good meter? Or are people bias and just love it I keep having issues

those are the meters I use , they work great , you should calibrate according to introductions EC is water good for 5 hours, these are my recommendations I have been growing since 1991

Yes. I've calibrated successful a few handful of times. I recieved in 28 days ago. Last night I soaked in 4.0 solution for 24hrs since my Kcl solution is in the mail. Then when I calibrated I put it in the 7.0 it read about 7.6 ...then I put it in the 4 and it read 3.6-3.8 .... and it ended with Err everytime until I did this.. I put the meter in my tap water (pretending it was 7.0 which it could be anywhere from 6.5-7) and then I did the 4.0 it read 4.0 exactly and it was a successful calibration. I still am not sure exactly what to do.. what do you think? would u use tap as the 7.0? @freezeland2 I also have a cheap meter Ill do some more experimenting with that as well but it's the vivosun one where it calibrates at 3.8 and 6.8. should I still use my 4 for the 3.8 and just assume its .2 under?

I would contact blulab. You don’t want use a unknown (tap water) as your calibration standard. Are batteries fresh?

You are more than likely doing something wrong. Blue Lab pens are high quality and will last several years without issues other than changing the batteries. I would make sure and read the directions before you go any further because I can tell from your post you have not said a thing about cleaning them before you calibrate. Make sure you understand the process before trying to calibrate them again.

It's one of the best meters in my opinion. Did it not come with a solution in the tube with the probe? It's supposed to always stay wet. I've had them ship me a replacement probes that leaked all the fluid out and the thing was worthless. TherDid it not come with a solution in the tube with the probe? It's supposed to always stay wet. And also pH solution can go bad, my IV stays good for a long time, but the seven goes bad after about a year

Hey thanks eveyone thanks for the comments, its a new meter came with fresh batteries . And Yes @Og_punkgenetics I agree I love the meter I cleaned it for the first time yesterday with the cleaning solution. It seems to have a orange stain on the white contact point, u think I should exchange it for a new one lol? I got 1-2 days on my 30 day return lol but today I bought the ph test drops and it seems like my tap is 7.0 and my 7.0 solution is 8.0 at least thats what the test says and my 4.0 solution is correct at 4, should i just use my tap to calibrate? Lmfao it seems like solution is always going to go bad it went bad in 3 weeks but maybe I didnt close the cap tight enough once? Idk ill try and get 7.0 solution tom and take it from there. I also got a budget ph meter from vivosun Which calls for 3.8 and a 6.8 solution would that be fine to use on it and then just round up .2?

Just because it came with batteries doesn’t mean they are good. I’d replace them so you know for sure. You could also test your batteries if you have a volt meter and don’t want to buy batteries.

The one thing about the seven is it should be stored in darkness, I've seen algae grow inside of it but it was pretty old too. I replace the probe once or twice a year depending but i use it several times a day. I've gotten bad probes in the mail, the way I can tell is that when I put it in the solution and press calculate on both ends and it either takes forever to reach setpoint, or it never quite hits it either way. It's rare but it happens

We have several. They are a great meter. Most cheap ones are accurate as well, take a longer time to settle on ph. The ph probes are very fragile being glass. We have had some issues with the wires,1 bad new probe and brand new bottle of calibration fluid not matching other brand new calibration fluid. The probes also fit the guardian monitors which we have several. Hanna and other brands have similar problems. Think bluelab and Hanna are excellent but still better have a backup meter and extra ph probes for insurance.

Could be old it was from amazon warehouse , I trust the probe more than I trust a $10 bottle of pickle juice lmfaooo

stop fussing...if it is new and doesn't calibrate right out of the box, for that kind of $$, use the 30day guarantee and replace it

Just so newbs reading this know. It was the calibration solution. bluelab combo meter is amazing. make sure when you have bottles of nutes or solutions you screw the cap sooooo tight. also don't trust amazon with calibration solution lol.
