First time grower since NY legalized

Hey how’s it going guys first time grower here since NY legalized I finally figured I’d give a try at growing I pondered some different indoor outdoor setups and this summer has been a fun experiment to say the least! I have 4 blue haze plants going in my backyard in pots… each one has a little different situation, as I’m experimenting a bit to see which one was best for future grows…. Two in reservoir pots…..the other two in bigger pots with drainage… two with miracle potting mix 6-6-6 and the other two with a fresh bag of raised bed garden soil I want to say 3-3-3…. Good drainage…. So far so good I think? There is some yellowing on the bottom leaves, I put them against my fence outdoors so in the afternoon the pot gets some shade so the roots don’t fry it’s been kind of a heatwave here in NY for a bit…. They’re in early early flowering…. I’m having an issue keeping my PH between 6-7 I thinks that may be a problem… also the heat but I dunno how much of a problem…. One of them fell and has rusty spots…. Does anyone know what this is or sees anything they can spot from my pics that could be adjusted??? Looks like it can use some calcium and nitrogen. If your going into flowering I would offer some magnesium sulfate as well. Bone meal, or perhaps a little bat guano might be ideal for this situation. Depending on the way you want to go forward.

The bottom leaves are nitrogen being sucked for the growth above, the rust looks like Calcium issues. Calcium Nitrate would be a good salt, but you need to balance the pH. I would make some sort of game plan going forward. If you insist upon using Miracle grow, use the pink (rose) flowering formula. With it's 18-24-16 NPK, but I would advise against it, you can simply do better, but it certainly should work.

Your pH should probably be a bit lower than 6-7, looks like your on the organic side of things, so nitrification should help you raise it natrually. Keep it lower, around 6...

I would also inspect those undersides and maybe give a treatment for bugs or something at this point, before the flowering takes hold. Peppermint Castile Soap (or similar) about 1tbsp per liter should be a pretty good starting point in that regard, just spray the entire topside with it. Keeping your pH proper above (7.5-8) so that no mold problems develop in that humid NY weather of yours.

Might also consider super-cropping some of those top branches before they get too hardened by the flowering process and stretch above your fence line, I'm assuming you want to keep it below that mark...

You main issue right now is correcting that calcium problem, get on it fast.

Would calmag do the trick or should I look for something different…. Also ordered fox farm ph down… should get that within a few days…. Would some distilled white vinegar mixed into some water work to keep the PH low until I get some PH down??? Also been using the fox farm package of nutes…. On the grow big now I use about half what it says to use to play it safe… should I use its basic general feeding??

Who's eyes are on the other side of that fence? Your plants will be making eye contact with them, soon.

It's high time you learned a little about supercropping — squash the main stalk, a few internodes down from the top, bend the stalk to a 90 degree angle and tie it there (or it will straighten up again and flirt with your neighbors).

One of the biggest pests in outdoor growing is other people stealing your plants. When I used to grow outdoors, guerrilla style, I would plant 3x as many plants as I wanted to have at the end of the season — one for the pests, one for the rippers and one for me. Being in your yard, you can cut down on the pest problems and hopefully the ripper problems.

I have a good neighbor that’s trustable in that sense on that, so I don’t worry about him much, but I worry about the other guys I have on the other side are younger and always party on their side…. I don’t worry bout them saying anything but I’m more worried I’d find one missing in the middle of the night…. But hasn’t happened yet and they are the only other option so if they took it it would be pretty obvious

Even trustworthy people are talkative. Secrecy about this is most important to you, but it is of very little importance to anyone else. People will "brag" at parties or other social situations, that their neighbor is growing a huge pot plant! or a neighbor grows the best fucking weed!

The further away from you the information gets, the less importance secrecy has. A friend might blather, but the people who hear your friend WILL blather and will not give a damn what happens to your grow, at all. They might even encourage a ripoff.

I don't want to cause undue paranoia or anything, but anyone on this site who grows can tell you the same thing. Only fellow growers and the people I supply know I grow.

Loose lips sink ships. My state also went legal but I prefer indoor grows, I can control the environment.

The plant looks healthy but don't let it reach the fence tops!

I seen the title and idk where you located in NY but I have to ask because it’s an issue I came across. Did you get lady bugs this year? I got close to nothing in my location of NY

You should strongly consider up-potting those before transition.
