I have 2 clones that are 2 weeks old and don't have much in the way of roots going on. A root popped out of the cube this morning but they're starting to yellow. I'm worried they'll die before they have enough roots to transplant.
I have them under a blurple light at around 80 ppfd and on a heating pad with a dome over them. I've been misting them with aloe water whenever the leaves look dry.
Can I plant into a small cup of soil or should I keep steering the course until they either root more or die? Any tips or suggestions would be great too. Thanks!

Do you have a dome on usually? You need to let your clones root by allowing them to absorb water through their leaves. It also looks like your substrate is probably soaking wet which will do no good as the clone has no roots to take up water yet. If you are using peat pucks I would saturate and then gently squeeze so excess water comes out. I never allow there to be extra water in the bottom of the tray either. Whenever I notice the substrate drying out I mist or take a 20cc syringe and water that way. Make sure a dome is on and the humidity is high. You can spray your dome with water if you can't get the humidity up at all.

No big. Repot it. Reduce the light for the next 3 days. See how it goes. If the dead tips spread to fast there's a problem. Should just grow you some bug white roots and forgive you.

Thanks for the reply. I have a dome on them all the time except when I mist the leaves to water them. The heating pad under it makes it humid in there but I do spray the dome if it looks too dry.
The substrate is wet but it's not sitting in water. I have the clones propped up in the cell tray I have them in. I'll gently squeeze out whatever water is in there though.

Personally I don't even mist the leaves. If you see some condensation on the dome then that is humid enough. If it's too wet on the plant I find it can cause problems like mold and what not. You want it wet but not too wet 😂 for weeds these things sure are finicky! I like to keep the substrate damp enough that that is enough for the plant to transpire and cause enough humidity. But forsake will have to lightly mist the dome every now and then! Do you use any rooting gels?

Good to know, thanks!!
Yes, my buddy who gave them to me used rooting gel and scraped the bottom up on the stem so roots will grow easier. I have read that aloe helps with rooting too so that's why I've been using a little aloe gel in the water I spray it with. Only been using the aloe spray for a few days though but it seemed to get me this root so maybe it is helping.

Yea man a lot of this growing stuff is really just trial and error! So keep doing what you're doing, You got it to root and that was the end goal!

Update: I lost one of the clones but was able to nurse the lemon gorilla fire clone back to health and is happily in veg waiting for the flower tent to clear out.
