Hello fellow growers... I like to try new things and because I do a lot of different stuff from week to week, the saying around here when it comes to mentioning my name people ask "What's he doing today?" and the answer to that is always something interesting and different but always making it fun whatever it is I happen to be concentration on. I have an electro/mechanical background along with 35 years of plumbing experience. Done a lot of interesting custom builds and have now discovered indoor farming! I'm finding it fascinating, challenging and now rewarding. As I don't think I will ever have to visit a dispensary for recreational weed again. Not that I don't like dispesaries. I enjoy them a lot but it does get expensive at the prices out there these days. So I did a little research and built my own rdwc set up with 5 gallon buckets, bought a couple of tents and started my jungle for one seed I happened to find inside a bud I was breaking apart from the local dispensary. I saw that seed and an idea came to mind. "I will grow this seed into a nice big mother plant and make enough clones to start my forest" That's what he is doing today... Pushing the limits of fun. I'm looking forward to having a great time in this forum by learning from others and throwing in a few fun comments here and there where it is most likely accepted. Who doesn't like to have fun? And if you're not pushing the limits of fun now and then you're missing out on the joys of life.... Peace out!

Solid background to venture deep into a lot of subjects:)

Thats a full tent yea. Good work.
I like your take on things and the positivity:)

Are these sativas ?

With your background you can easily make high tech modified environments. I have been playing with the idea of turning high fridges into a grow chamber. No one would bat an eye at a fridge

Nice to be here.. Ive been reading forums and threads and have learned quite a lot since i joined THCFarmer. Ive been growing on the conservative side with nutrient ppm and didnt know what to expect this being my first grow. I have a lot more respect for farmers after experiencing some of the troubles in my own grow. What I've found is that controlling the environment is key and keeping a close eye on your plants and trying to read them to see how they are reacting to their environment. Also, I would say there is some luck involved too. Some days grow smoother than others but it's always nice to have a contingency plan in case something goes astray. I think also I was lucky to have access to one good seed that ended up having pretty good genetics... I wish I knew what the father plant was that pollinated this strain. Mojo Melon by Farm Fresh...it's got a super lemony, pine and sweet smell and I noticed on the package that the 4 grams I purchased was grown organically. So, I grew that seed into a monster mother plant and then cloned it and started a 3 DWC and 4 RDWC with it. I flipped the mother plant that was in soil after I got 4 more clones off her. Now Im noticing that the hydro weed is so much larger and stickier that the soil weed. I think this hydro version is a more powerful version of the organic Mojo Melon. Here is a pic of a

soil bud and a hydro bud. The soil bud has more orange hairs and the buds are about 40 percent smaller than the hydro versions.

Welcome
Hello.. Thank you for the compliment. When I started it I thought building it was gonna take up most of the time but I was wrong.. Maintaining the environment to be consistent for veg or flower and feeding and pruning the plants has actually taken a lot more time than building the initial setup. When I started the seed, I placed it on a paper towel and then wet it and covered it with a moist paper towel and into the closet on a coffee plate it went. After a few days I saw a white root come out of the seed. Then I planted it in a peet starter, made a little dome out of the top of a plastic water bottle and put a cheap led bar light over the top of it. I didnt even know if the seedling was gonna make it. I remember peeking over the side of the potted plant rim to see if it was still alive. 4 months later and the seedling became a monster. And guess what? It definitely had Sativa in it...and I knew I was gonna run out of light height in that plastic storage shelf I was growing it in. So I decided to take up a gardening hobby and grow out this strain through some hydro clones... This strain gets tall and really takes off during the stretch. I built a scrog for the rdwc but they were in a dedicated tent so I had to use LST training clips and tie the mother down to using the rim of her own pot as an anchor. Those clips saved me but now my mother plant was everywhere. One thing led to another and pretty soon I was into 2 tents, a 30 gallon igloo reservoir, a chiller to keep the nutrient temps stable and a dehumidifier to make the buds produce resin the last weeks of flower. Oh and I almost forgot. 6 spider farmer led lights to light up both tents... I have so much electronics drawing power that I bought a kill a watt meter to check my amp draw and now im gonna have to run a dedicated line from the breaker box to the grow room to handle the excess amps...I was at my limit when I realized that buying my portable ac/dehumidifier/Heater was gonna push me over my breaker capacity. So funny how one thing leads to another in this hobby... I have a cannalytics kit im gonna test this with after harvest...Its got the height and leaf build of a sativa
