I have 7 Blueberry clones outdoor. 6 were put out about a week ago, and 1 was put out yesterday. All clones taken from the same mother, and vegged indoor under the same light and in the same soil. All were well rooted in solo cups and hardened off before transplanting outside. I'm wanting to top 3 of them to compare the growth and yield for future runs, as I plan to keep the mother around for awhile if I like the way these clones perform.

These girls don't get the best sun exposure, but I have them in the best spot I could get them in. I'd say they get 4-6 hours of somewhat direct sun with passing shade, and another 2-3 hours of indirect sun throughout the day.

This is my 1st outdoor grow, and they have about 2-1/2 months before flowering season starts around Aug 15-20th. All are planted in the ground. 6 of the holes were filled with Great Lakes Water Only Soil, and 1 of them, as well as 2 Afghan Kush reveg clones are planted directly in my native soil to see how they'll do.

So when would be a good time to top them? Should I let them be a little longer to get further acclimated to their new home, or just go for it in order to give them a longer recovery/growth period?

Here's the 3 ladies that I planned to top. There's a couple ugly leaves on them because they were a bit overdue for a transplant. Being my 1st outdoor grow, any tips are appreciated.

Heights not too much of an issue, so long as I keep em under 6ft, but being shorter and stealthier would not be a bad thing. I've just read that Blueberry should be topped to perform her best, and I'd like to have a comparison for next season since I'll be keeping this cut around if it does well. Plan is to run 3 topped, and to have a mix of natural, and lst on the others, to see what the pheno likes. Hard to tell from the pics, but they have 7-9 nodes, and have been responding very well to the transition.

Think I’d be chopping. In the second to last pic in the lower left corner of pic there is a bud with what looks like brown sugar leaves. Maybe it’s just the pic but maybe not. You might want to check it for rot. Beautiful buds by the way. Nice job.

Thank you Can't wait to cut her down. Plan on doing doing 2 weeks of ice 2 inches thick on top of the dirt just to spice things up a bit! Then cut her down
