Great things have come from bag seed that were likely from hermies, but it's more common to see the hermie trait passed on.

It depends what seeds you have access to. I would throw them away, but that's because I have all sorts of "store bought" seeds, coming out of every bodily orifice.

I've grown seed from one of my homegrown plants that was like yours...I found three seeds out of 6 ounces of buds. None of those 3 plants hermied and they turned out just like the mother plant. So from my experience, I'd say "go for it." But I wonder if they'll be autos.

I gave my sister like 15 of them that I started growing just to see what happens. 12 got pulled due to either becoming hermie or male but 3 of them turned into some fine looking ladies that are just getting ready to be chopped. In my opinion...as long as you aren't solely relying on those seeds for a harvest, pop em and plant them outside if you have a spot to put them. Worst thing that happens is you end up tossing them.
Would I grow them inside and waste time and money?...probably not.
How do you know there is not going to be seeds in the 3 fine looking ladies?

Wont be the first time I've ever gotten a bag with seeds in it. It's free...who cares? And if there are seeds I'll pop em and see what happens next yr.

I'll stick to my store bought seeds. Why? Experience ... I've been through all that before and I don't need avoidable headaches.

My last grow, I had a store-bought seed go hermaphrodite and I ended up with a tent full of seeded buds....so there's that to consider. I won't mention strain or breeder on the chance that it might have been caused by my environment. The seeded buds are great smoke. It's just a bother removing the seeds for smoking.

You're right, it does happen occasionally. However, I've yet to have a breeder pack seed herm on me. It will probably happen some day, but the success rate is far higher with known good genetics.

Even my store bought autos hermied, that’s how I got the hermi seeds to begin with. Even photos can hermi from stress etc… although I have not seen that happen. Only with the autos for what ever reason, (I think heat stress) every year for the past 6 years I’ll have 1 or 2 out of 10 plants throw balls early on… you need to watch for that and even expect it and pluck them before they open and spread the pollen… once that happens even 1 time during flower, you can get a ton of seeds.

Seeded buds taste like shit even after removing the seeds. The after birth that covers the seed is disgusting. Only thing that works is turning it to hash.

Did the auto herm from a light leak? Dog fart? Or just shit genetics?

There is one difference. I don't grow autos. Auto flower plants have a reputation of being finicky. That in itself doesn't explain why yours hermied ... but it could have something to do with it too.

So y’all remember when I posted this question back in September? Well….I grew the seeds for fun and to experiment. They turned out to be autos and females! Which is great. But the plants are super tiny and more leaf than bud. So how we know what happens when you grow your own hermied seeds!…thanks for all the replies everyone! Just figured I’d update on what happened

Yeah true. I forgot to mention that this case is very specific to this one situation. I just wanted to follow up with what happened 😊
At some point I will do the same, still not double blind but a vote.

I grew two hermi seeds outside last year. Neither turned hermi, one was very leafy and the other was excellent.

I don't buy seeds from the big seedbanks with stock photos anymore. Last year I had very bad luck with bogus genetics and waiting for my replacements.

Buying only from banks who actually show you their grown goods and give detailed info.

I'm still on the fence using hermi seeds, not much different that using reg seeds and weeding out males and I'm always vigilant throughout the entire grow anyway.
