The information in this thread is for research purposes only, "True Organic" documents the growth process of Sativa dominant strain Lemon Og Kush in a state which allows cultivation of cannabis for medicinal purposes and I shall not be held accountable for human stupidity)

Namaste and one love everyone!

Every grower has her or his methodology and routine and this thread documents mine. I believe in pure organic medicine that isn't reliant upon synthetic chemical nutrients. I've noticed that there are many new comers to this hobby and misinform is rampant online. My presidential suite is currently occupied with five lovely Lemon OG Kush. This is my first time working with such a versatile strain that grows like Spanish moss! Currently I reside in a state that allows cultivation so I can take full advantage of that. To be safe I've decided to stay under six specimen to preserve some legitimacy to my garden. Garden?... Yea, you did read that right, I also have Tomato(2 types), bell pepper(3 types), basil, mint, green onion, italian brocolinni, brussel sprouts (what?), corn, potato, lavender, a lovely jasmine (that's blossoming) and an orchid.

Before the flame war begins, my short bio:

I studied Computer Science at UCF in Florida then moved west back to southern California. I'm currently working towards finishing graduate school and then pursue my doctorates. My experience in the garden comes from nine years working at a family foliage nursery in Florida. My extensive work with tissue culture and home gardening, has increased my desire to research botany and has helped me gain insight on how to become a better horticulturalist. My only goal is to gain wisdom and further explore my love for this flower. My goal is to stop misinformation and spread truth. However, I don't share certain trade secrets, sorry... :p if you didn't get the hands on experience you can't learn and grow.

When I say better I also refer to "efficiency" which should be everyone's goal. Why? Well, when you work efficiently you save time and $$dollheirs$$, I chose to work with this flower because my current position in academia exhaust my time and automation has preserved my love for growing and restored my faith in agriculture. However, due to the fact that with the right information and patience "little" work is needed.

Before I begin let me clarify that hydroponics is the growth of plants in a soiless medium. The medium can be a plethora of things from sand to straight perlite and is all the same concept. However, it is possible to practice this style using soil. For example a wic system that uses a wic to diffuse water/nutrients into the soil. You never water and just watch it flourish while being indoors or outdoors. Anyways, I hate to hear the term used loosely by would be growers who are impatient and produce sub par medicines. I DO NOT use synthetic fertilizers of any kind only compost (I make), watering I prefer to use Ph'd R/O water only, and I have been experimenting with pure growth hormones GA3, NAA, and IBA to hasten growth and flowering naturally.

Don't buy water and just buy a filter that attaches to your main line or rent a water dispenser. The best part is that you can choose if you want R/O, carbon ect. My current lamps are two LED lamps (300x3w chips and 900x5w chips), believe it or not one is more red and holds multiple purposes, while the bigger lamp is strictly for vegging. My chamber is setup to run humidity, lighting and ventilation automatically. I could automate watering but prefer to spend time with my babies. Each chamber is only big enough for one maybe two people but make up for depth in width and height. My ceiling is ten feet high so I exploit that.

Note: Every grower has their preference and shit... by all means stick to it!

Believe it or not human urine contains NO ammonia and is completely sterile. I'm not sure what hydroponic store I was browsing and I over heard an employee say that to a customer. It behooved me to take action and I'm here writing my first ever journal. With that said I use my own urine in the evening time to give extra N during the vegetative stage. I've read so much about the use of hormones in vegetative growth but again... They are all in synthetics and that's no bueno! So I'll improvise and spend my money on quality grow equipment. I've been experimenting with a solution of GA3 and NAA as a foliary spray and the growth is quite noticeable. I have pictures but I'll upload them upon request only. They are on my iphone and I hate this fucking phone. Iphone 6S is a nice phone but drives the computer programmer nuts! I miss my android but aren't impressed by what Samsung has to offer... * le sigh* Anyways, photographic images show my current growth with this water based solution. (Keep in mind GA3 MUST be dissolved w/ a solvent. It's not H2O soluble) Temperatures remain within a range of 40-60% with an avg. of 50%, I spray every few hours and have no issues with pests. Because I'm completely sanitary and indoors I have yet an issue. My garden is always clean and my tools are sanitized with 91% or greater non-denatured alcohol. My medium is a personal blend but I used coco, perlite, sand, river rock, myochorizae, EW castings and then amend some CA into the mix. I use LST techniques only because I've no reason to fim or top my specimens. They are vigorous and growing exponentially for being a month old. I will attach some pictures as proof. I'm planing on being online a lot to anwser questions as they come in.

Note: the sand is the top layer and prevents the small water gnats we all hate. I've also noticed I don't have a mold/mildew issue. Cleanliness may also attribute to this greatly.

Ok, well I have run out of things to say. I hope I get lots of questions and help a lots of newbies grow a better crop. I attached one picture which is my profile pic as well. This is a frankenstein waiting to happen as its only a month old clone and about 2.00 ft tall.(taken from mature mother) This month includes the 4-10 days of rooting the cutting. Again, I need more time to further investigate the effect and find the equilibrium dosage for cannabis.

Oh! Ok, that's a rather different beast and is a more natural segue. I'm sure we can figure out a way to put you to best use. :)

While I do use wee I amend it with added N2. I notice that my current location all my plants consume more N2, maybe its just me smoking too much lol I do want more tips on sources of N2. I'm all for finding new ways of growing. I was watching this youtube clip of rastas in jamaica and some of these gorilla grows are epic! one rasta was creating man made flats in a swap... its wild there is so much to learn. And your right, I was half working this morning and typing this. There is a lot I didn't get to write and uh... just the typing. but Thanks for your input on the urine question. I've never noticed ammonia smell but again I've only started experimenting with urine this week. So DUMME from your experience what have you find works best?

N2? You want to amend with air? Rhizobacteria species would be helpful here IF they'll grow in cannabis roots. I'm a fan of the naturally occurring NO3.

I've been using urine for a few years now, but I don't produce anywhere nearly enough to make it a primary feed. It is a complete fertilizer, so you're not just giving N sources but all macro and micro nutrients. Also, because I get kidney stones I have to keep myself super-hydrated, which means my pee is very, very dilute. I can only dilute it about 3:1 water:pee.

well I was thinking along the lines of " you are what you eat", I tend to have a veggie diet consisting of lots of leafy greens as well as very little meat. Fish, chicken and thats about it for protein. I'm curious what foods can be eaten to play with levels lol

That's a good question, but I haven't really been able to answer the question beyond the fact that cloudy urine indicates high protein levels. How much you drink during the day also plays a role here.

Don't you love science Seamaiden...? :p

I know that non-meat eaters body ph will be more alkaline than a meat eater. Although, I may start eating more fish and document my findings. My ladies are all a beautiful green and all I do is water when they feel dry. I just cupcake method it and use a bamboo skewer. If nothing sticks to it then attention is needed. I find that if you can keep your humidity under control then you don't have to water much at all. To be completely honest, I water about every five to six days. It all depends on the temperature outside for the day. Lately, southern California has been plagued by good weather. What strains do you have experience with?

Oh... man.. you want me to list them? I grow new strains every year, but I don't do a good job keeping a list. I prefer Sativa-dominant strains though, so that's where I have the most experience.

Hahaha, I'm the same way about Canabaceae Sativa. I feel that the Indica revolution is out of control. I like Indica but I prefer Sativa. I don't like being drowsy or couched lol
Correct me if I'm wrong... Sativa dominant strains tend to take higher temps with vigor over Indica. That's my understanding about the strain. I notice that my girls LOVE it when RH is in the 40-65% range and my ambient stays within 70-80 degrees. I've had days where temps reach 95(highest) and 58 degrees (lowest)

We all contain very small amounts of ammonia in the blood. Most ammonia in the body forms when protein is broken down by bacteria in the intestines. The liver normally converts ammonia into urea, which is then eliminated in urine. Urea is highly soluble in water and is, therefore, an efficient way for the human body to expel excess nitrogen.

After urine sits for a while you will start to notice an ammonia smell.

Ammonia levels in the blood rise when the liver is not able to convert ammonia to urea. This may be caused by cirrhosis or severe hepatitis.

The amount of ammonia in your body SHOULD be very very low at any time. If your body is 'exuding' enough ammonia to 'curl' hair, you would be dead. Our bodies to not normally emit 'ammonia' odors, however IF you notice strong ammonia smell in your urine, you are not getting enough fluids and are probably dehydrated!

absolutely correct and thank you for adding that. I'd rather have complete info on this thread than pieces missing. I think it would really help people understand that slow is the way to go... kinda lol I'm using a little Jesus juice on the jardin.

I would agree with that generally, however, many strains are so hybridized that it can be difficult at times to know what you're really working with. Also, I do observe the heat stress on all strains in the form of yellowing leaves, inside to the out, bottom working its way up. I also see this on trees like madrone when it gets really hot.

I notice that my girls love the higher RH levels, so the outside ladies may get a spritz.

I once tried to kill some clones I didn't want to keep by leaving them outside in the winter weather. 1gal pots, temps got down into the teens, they were snowed on, frosted over, flooded by rain, you name it. They didn't die until the following JUNE when they finally dried out.

Dang, that's hella good! The craziest that I've done is nute stress seedlings to pick out viable ones. Again, not recommended and I'm sure there are better ways of doing it. But from my experience, I've found that the ones who live are stronger specimens to cultivate. However, for sexing that is a different story. I've used a light schedule that does force the sex at early ages. More data is needed before I share further on this detail. I have a great germinating method that I was astounded when I checked today. I need to find a medium for these new seedlings. I may put them outside until I can bring them inside. Just to test the differences between the sun and my lights. I have some thin mint seeds that I've started as well. I'm planning on mainlining the hell out of these four ladies.

Well I'll tell you what you just might be a little bit wordier/long-winded t h a n I am at times lol But when I first saw you're, seems I can only consider it a message/call for help – – I had a whole lot to say to you!!! But just so happen I was too far involved in the , Revenge of the russet hemp mites the second coming! I must say what I did have to said you probably would not have it is a very good appetizer or even a decent meal to your favor mainly because the Way You interred this domain the THCfarmer or as I sometimes refer to it as– (Land of the Lost) generally because of the twisties about that anyway why in the world would anybody blame you for some people's /or somebody else's stupidity? That is unless you were specifically involved with their current stupid operation! But when you read what you said it's like everybody is stupid but you or at least it sounded that way to me I can't speak for everybody! I checked out some of the things you were talking about it sounds too me like you want to be in GMO marijuana specialist! Anyway I'm not quite so long when you today I rethought thought about what I was going to say but I do remember some of the stuff you were talking about the experiments they used were not consistent and we're determined invalid but the other is the basic ones that have already been introduced to all or most of the glow mediums / potting soil or whatever you want to call it. but the inconsistent or invalid ones are not which could be a blessing from what I read very. But then again you know I could be lost all together and I'm not putting you down so don't take it wrong! Except for maybe you should rephrase the way you use the word stupidity
